Explain the fun aspect to me.
430+ hours on the standalone client. Explain to me why this mess of a game is fun.

I could list all the negative here, and as we all know there is quite a few.

But I am genuinely interested in hearing what makes you think this game is fun.
To me it is a complete sweat-fest that feels sluggish and clunky with enemies being where they have no business being. There is no front lines just arcade run around shoot.

So yeah, have you ever analyzed your life and considered why you play this broken unbalanced garbage? Is the extremely low playerbase not a big red flag for you? The whole still alpha feel over it, although it claims to be beta which is just a label to get away with a completely unfinished product.

Very interested in reading what YOU think makes this game fun in comparison to the 497 other ww2 games alone.

Is starting to get boring for me, not for the game itself but for the playerbase, I only play germany and im in Tier 4 and at my rank I allways play vs sweat lords that play like their family lives depend on it.

Sometimes we dont even pass the first capture point or we get stomped in 5 min. Im trying to think there are not cheaters but my god, its so hard to enjoy the game like this.

I wish they added ranked matches or something, sometimes I just wanna enjoy a casual match.
Anything with tier 5 is pure cancer, and it looks like that's where people who enjoy that stuff gravitate towards. You can even see here claims that tier 5 is the only playable tier because you don't get uptierd. As if that somehow cancels out the cancerous nature of those matches.

I find the game fun because I am good at it and because the game provides visceral vistas of ww2 conflict. I enjoy the suite of weapons and vehicles in the game, the decently simulated damage system the game provides for vehicles and the nature of the game modes resulting in an at least partially tactical approach to combat, similar to a battlefield game. This game has simulator systems like weapon resting, leaning in multiple stances, and provides direct control over vehicle systems independently, yet it is also arcadey and I can hop in and out at will. I am a long time war thunder player and the spirit of that game is here.

I do really wish that this game offered more hardcore, simulator focused, realism modes. I think the base of the game is perfect for this type of gameplay, but I settle for the arcade game we have and I think it does a better job than some tactical shooters with its movement and ballistics/physics/realism, it just does not actually exist as a tactical shooter itself.

Slaughter mechanics

Few games have them, even fewer pvp games have them. Having it for a ww2 game makes the experience more authentic to how CQB was/is, instead of only having fights between one or a few people.

The damage mechanics are also nice, say as opposed to battlefield's where it takes way too many bullets to kill something. Other games with similar damage mechanics are squad, rising storm, red orchestra, verdun, etc. .You can't really have slaughter mechanics without the appropriate damage models anyway. Some games have moments where slaughter mechanics are present despite having no bots, like in rising storm when there were organized banzai charges (so fun!).

One thing I can't stand is when shooters have the following experience (think COD and BF): You get the drop on 3 people, by the time you get 3-5 hits on one guy, the other two are pouring on you and kill you possibly even before you get enough hits to kill one. This (frustrating) example simply doesn't happen in enlisted. When you get the drop, you can pin a whole group down with a single mag and probably kill them all, plus, in enlisted, it's not just 1 or 3 kills in that kind of encounter, it can be up to 10 or more - it's just so satisfying and everything happens so fast.

Highlight reels in other ww2 shooters that are far and few in between happen in nearly every engagement in enlisted. The level of crazy ♥♥♥♥ that happens reminds me of the fun I had playing BF1942 back in the day (which at the time, was a breakthrough in ww2 FPS when it came to scale).

As an aside, something i used to do growing up was using console commands in shooters to spawn AI units and have big bot fights and help your side slaughter them. It's fun, it always has been - enlisted captures that experience at times. I'm not even mad when I'm on the business end of it either, it's fun to watch.

Yeah, I've noticed that if you just play for fun and don't try to sweat you can kind of have an experience in Enlisted that is in multiplayer what old shooters were in single player, you don't need to do everything in a rush you can take a slow creeping movement and be successful, I just wish they didn't force you into such a small part of the map so much
