guess we'll see if I get an answer
So guess we'll see if I can get an answer here to this question I've had since I started to fly the planes in Enlisted. Which is, do the bombs on the plane when flying affect performance? I would assume so, which is why when I begin a dogfight depending on the needs i have for after the merge I'll ditch any bombs on my aircraft if I deem it necessary, just in case. I know Gaijin has modeled it that way in WT based on my experience playing that years ago. Stands to reason they'd do the same here, but I haven't found a concrete answer and have just been working on the assumption.

Flight model is dramatically simplified here. At most it's WT's arcade model, possibly even more forgiving and UFO-like. To me it never felt like there is a difference, or at the very least it isn't significant. I could be wrong though, because I never got to use airplanes with bigger CAS load by the virtue of focusing on two factions which don't get those.

Should be easy enough for you check if you have an airplane with big enough load and enough experience to spot the difference. Just use the training mode and try turning with and without the load.

First off thank you very very much for the answer, your thoughts on the question run along the same vein as mine were for the most part lol. I figured it was a much simpler model of the WT flight model at best. As good as I am at flying in Enlisted, I am not a well trained enough eye to be able to notice a few degrees a second turn difference in an aircraft (if the ordinance on it makes any difference) so I'll just work on the assumption that maybe it does and keep droppin' em when they aren't needed lol

As far as I know, it affects the plane's performance.

Grazie! I very much appreciate the reply I'll continue operating under that assumption

I used to dogfight with bombers a lot (even Stuka is a beast if you know what you're doing), and yeah, bombs make you slower and it's harder to climb. So after diving to drop your load it's important to gain altitude again before you rearm, as otherwise it might be problematic.

I used to out dogfight a Lotta German pilots in the a20 before I got my hands on the p47 and retired it lol. If you have enough understanding of BFM you can wreck most enlisted pilots (wish more people knew how to dogfight. My favorite thing about flying in enlisted). I usually operated under the assumption the bomb loads effected performance but was hoping for concrete confirmation hence the post lol
