If they implemented a simple system based on Mario Karts and track browser like in Trials games, we would have an absolute hit.
Nevertheless, all Milestone games suffer from this condition and it is no surprise to anyone.
Apart from that, I can honestly say that this is one of the best arcade racers of all time even in single player mode.
And I am a veteran who remembers Wipeout on PSX, Daytona on Sega Saturn and Projest Gotham on original X.
And I'm not a paid actor who praises trash games, I'm a connoisseur with several decades of experience :)
They completely fckd up the multiplayer which deprived the game of the success it deserved, the rest is a masterpiece of digital art.
Ive read that multiplayer isnt good but could anyone pls explain why its not good? Bad ping? cheater? boring races?
That is not accounting for the p2w mechanics, the best car in the roster was only purchasable with irl money, whenever a f2p car would overtake it it would get nerfed a couple of patches later. Disconnects were also not uncommon and you couldn't rejoin a lobby when dissconected (I don't know if this was fixed but I doubt it)
Otherwise the problems with this game boil down to Milestone wanting to have a live-service without the effort of maintaining one, I haven't bought this game because they didn't add basic features missing in the first game like a speed meters or implement common complaints like being able to play to play custom tracks with bots offline or add 4-player split screen, not to mention some people like me were burned by buying the "ultimate" edition at launch that only included the first couple of major dlcs without season passes or the third major dlc.
On that subject I'm waiting on a sale for the single player and poked my head here after a notification that the game had gone on discount, but upon opening it I found only the base game was discounted and adding the dlc down the line would cost about 3 times more than the base game, which is something I'm quite tired with coming from the first game and having to pay for the aforementioned season passes.
