Game is Horrible

Bought it because I liked the others but this one is just so bad. Already a few minutes in and after getting shot a few times there is nothing I can do to stop myself from dying. I have gone through 7 bandages and 5 orange health packs and my health just keeps droping until I die. So is there some trick to stop the bleeding? I also only get the red bleeding indicator - no lessor degrees. What is the point of the game if I can't stop the bleeding? It mean I can't engage in any combat at all. Nothing else works either - not food or rad packs.

Also it just seems as other have mention that the NPC's basically fight each other and in a lot of cases you don't even have time to reach/do anything about the "missions" that pop up on the radio.

Friendly NPC's will also "push" you out of cover and into the line of fire - or while on a bridge they will bump you off and cause you to fall.

I also can't seem to find out how to adjust the auto save - it only did it one time in 60 min at the very beginning of the game.


This game seems like a fail to me only a few minutes in.

Edit - I think I got the bleeding bug fixed after a reload - but the other problems are just getting more bothersome.

wow really? I was about to buy this. Are you just that bad of a player or does it really have those issues lol. can someone else chime in? sry for the insult, but the first 2 were great. never played this one for some reason

There are some other commentors saying similar things - especially on how the NPC's will often secure the objectives before you even get there to fight.

I think the bleeding thing was just a bug that sorted itself out - really bad bleeding should not take more than 3 bandages to stop. Also your health can drop from radiation, but I took rad meds and that did not stop it either. (but it's sorted itself out after a re-install)

It's not a very forgiving game - that's for sure. You really need to save manually every few minute or you could lose hours of play time.

The NPC's AI and collison detection is very bad - friendlies will bump you off walkways or push you out of cover all the time during bigger engagements.

I am really realy not impressed - the other 2 games were so great - but this one seems like such trash.

I would say if you like frustration and don't mind wasting $5 bucks on a 6 year old game - then give it a try. If you are not a hard core fan that has to play them all - then I would probably avoid it.

I presonally like it. Ya it's hard, really hard acutally, but quick save is there for a reason. The story feels blah so far to me, but im playing it more for the exploration, and atmosphere. I like the idea of the game. The gun play is very realistic and fun too. It is also kind of annoying where the AI will finish an objective before you even get there but it's not that big of a deal to me, it's actually cool to know that there's an AI that can actually hold its own instead of asking you for help every dam time. I also thought the ai was pretty smart as well, they flank you, search for you and along with the challengin gameplay and you have one tough game. Just DONT FORGET TO QUICKSAVE IT WILL SAVE YOUR LIFE.

Although it is not bad only plagued with day 1 bugs which 90% of them were patched...

Your complaints about the game are personal opinion because alot of what you are talking about is rare occurrences .

And the thing is the game had a strong community until newcomers to the stalker franchise came along... and that ruined it for everyone.

Now people suggest playing CoP after SHoC, which is stupid because playing the games in order fill in the story in order so that you know who characters are and why things happened in the zone

does not understand clear sky, good games but you dont know what your doing but ill give you a pro tip: To win learn the power of time manipulation key called the quicksave button if dont want to be killed by augmented overcoat bandits who have a guidance system, trust me works every time and be afraid of even the weakest enemies

i personally love this game. it was the first game i got in the series. yeah sure its hard. but that what makes it fun. your back pushed aganist the wall. it can get really tense and that can be good for a change. instead of easy games that hold your hand all the way through.

Ok for starters little info writing now.Stalker is played diff then any FPS out there.Its not a game where to run like trough mario bros killing stuff.First time when you start depends objective zones are interactive and takes time to controll.Some time when you start the game the objectives when they attacked they are not in your favor and you supose to lose.Rewards,hidden loot location are random they never same like the objectives location mission.Starter zones arent that hard wait until you half trough game and monsters and blood suckers who random apear give you trouble too.Game supose to give you unique feeling,its just you have to bring patience with it and get the feeling for the game,later you will add tons of mods to lift even more the diff and increase the expirience.After when you get used to it trust me you will never forget this game.As for suggestion to start from all the begin with the right mods - Stalker Shadow of chernobyl (with the mods) clean it will force a loot to use weapons from enemy since you have no posibility of repairing stuff even armor same issue.Clear sky ( works fine without mods to play trough) .And then Call to pripyat (had the latest communiy mod back from realease time,but from playing expirience was way to short for me and lacked clear sky randomness and constantly spawning enemies) .Suggesting it cause to develop the feeling for this kind of unique shooter game.


Ps this game from its relase was an introduction in coding and everything a fresh wind and unique.Its open source and when you give time to learn and put patience with it.Their game files are ( i mean the scripts are open) you can modify the game improve and everything on your own.Insreasing gun dmg improving ai inteligence and everything relating to game content play style is posible to modify.
