Later on you can get Exoskeleton and Bulat (also their faction varieties — Freedom Exoskeleton and PSZ-9d).
In Shadow of Chernobyl the best armor is SKAT-9M military armor, good overall protection + you can find it for free in Pripyat and CNPP.
In Call of Pripyat you can upgrade Exoskeleton to allow sprinting, so for me this is the best armor.
For me i prefer the berril because theres no real reason to have any anomaly protection or rad protection in CS.
In the other 2 games its different since you deal with more environmental factors.
having said that Seva is prob best in all 3 games overall.
Some noob will prob tell you exo however low mobility = death in this game unless you are cheating or something.
I always liked the Wind of Freedom suit for how light it is.
There are no bad armours they all have their places. There isnt really a "best" armour either because that will mean different things to different people.
Also artifact slots are very important and will drastically change the effectiveness of any armour. Which again is why the seva is so high up there for all 3 games it offers good bullet protection, rad, anomaly as well as having liek 5 slots for artifacts. I know vanilla soc doesnt have these but alot of mods for it do.
In the end you can still die to 2-3 bullets to your head regardless of how good your armour is. You can also die to a single well placed grenade. So survival is more about game knowledge and tactics rather than rpg like gear that gate keeps your progress. You can technically beat this game naked with a pistol.
All i can say is that before you head to Lamensk make sure you stock up on everything you think you will need for a very sloggy ending with alot of combat.
For example in Misery or alot of harder mods you could have fully decked out character with the best gear in the game that took 20+ hours to farm and over 500,000 RU but still die the second you make even the most minor mistake. The zone doesnt care about you and you are simply another one of its victims lol.
It's only advantage over CS-3a is lower upgrading cost.
When talking about CS-3a body armor, i meant the heavy one, not the light one.
