About those strange murders or deaths in stalker games.

brainstorm . Of the three original episodes of S.T.A.L.K.E.R, some characters or NPCs died mysteriously and you just found their bodies someday somewhere in the zone .

To start with , Wolf, former boss in charge of rookie village in cordon . In soc , wolf left cordon towards north saying he wanted to go deeper into the zone . and oneday he would be found dead in army warehouse . lying beside a stalker squad . the squad was on the assasin list of sidorovich .

Father Valarian . the leader who organise loners against the military ， was found dead in red forest near the secret camp with a few fellow loner's bodies. clear sky.

Valerian and his buddies probably wanted to go way deeper in the Zone. They have died by bloodsuckers. Th fun fact is, even if you find his body in Red Forest, you go back to the Cordon, and he is well and alive standing there.

here is one more. wolf's brother . In cs，the guy was rescued from bandit kidnapping by me . Later i found him dead lying beside wolf at rookie village . his name is Hound.

The thing is that during his death you were probably at other location and Hound was in "offline" state. If travel paths of rivaling npc (like stalker and bandit or a rookie and a pack of mutants) cross they engage in fight wich result in victory or defeat depending on npc's rank, luck (like throwing a dice in board game) and other stuff. When the npc loses his body appears at a place of fight. So basically he met some bad guys or mutants and lost... or maybe he burned himself to death in campfire, I've seen that happen a few times.

When you leave the X18 lab Wolf starts his journey to Army Warehouses. According to developers' design document the reason of his trip is to bring a box of dynamite to his old friend Skull (iirc), who is the leader of Duty squad. He and his squad want to attack the base of Freedom guys and they need that dynamite to breech a hole in the wall of Freedom base. It is the part of quest in wich you can participate. When Wolf delivers the dynamite he heads to the nearest stalker camp. I suppose he was killed in the same situation as Hound (random event). I am sure the guys from Sid's assasination list didn't kill him since the are in the same faction as Wolf.

I hope I explained to you how AI works in this game.

I rescued Hound, we started back to his bro but I had go by the bus depot to help stop the creature attacks. When I went back to get my reward I got NO reward and Hound was dead. :( Not sure how to handle it. Maybe go back to a save place and take care of hound, get reward and go back to bus depot...

Valerian's corpse is found next to a spatial anomaly, in which the very fabric of time and space become warped according to the lore. Maybe the corpse we're seeing is the corpse of future Valerian, spit out back in time through the space bubble.

Hound dying when you travel 100m away from him (while he is still online) is a bug. Ditto Drifter.

Bummer. I don't mind losing the 1500 for Hound so long as nothing is messed up with the progression in the game because of Hound's death.
