Useless Artefacts?
Hello,

It seems like resistance giving artefacts are useless. For example, a Stone Flower would give me +1 in Telepathy/Psy resistance, while my current Clear Sky armor would give me +18, and a SEVA suit would give me a whooping +37.

Is there something I'm missing?

There seems to be a big difference between a suit 18 protection and an artifact +1.
I havent looked much into it so i dont know how it works in detail, but a +1 artifact seems to add a lot more than +1 to the protection stats. A +3 artifact is very powerful, a +1 is useful when you low level, but generally its sell material because you will always find better than +1.

Anyway, what im trying to say is dont look at the +1 as an increase to your stats by +1, the increase is much higher than that, but the exact formula i dont know (and dont care to be honest).

That's what I thought at first, but then I had a look at my protection stats (below your equipment, in your inventory) and a +1 artefact actually only increased the associated stat and gauge by 1, where my CS suit would increase all of the stats by +18. So unless this is a bug, artefacts are really useless.

EDIT: I went into a telepathy anomaly with and without a +3 telepathy resistance artefact (moonlight), and the difference is huge, even though it went only from 18 to 21 in my stats. So artefacts resistance work on another level, but the stats shown are misleading.

the +1 means +10% actually it means a lot. I use fully upgraded SEVA suit and moonlight artifact and I have got 100% Telepathy protection and I can walk down to X16 entrance without harm.

Just started the game, so some things I didn't notice at first.

I'm running around and from time to time, it seemed like I was almost dying. My PDA is red, when did that happen? Waste what little inventory I have for some thing I thought was a glitch.

Then I went back and found that Jellyfish I missed in the beginning. It's only -2 radiation, but it works and will remove the radiation. It really helps you saving inventory early in the game.

Plus it was my fault for not paying better attention to the PDA.

Yeah, stay away from water, most of it is highly radioactive.
The needle of the vu-meter shows the radiation level in the spot you are in, and the red bar/gauge shows how radiated you are, so when you see the red bar, drink a vodka or take an antirad. Jellyfish works too but sometimes its not fast enough, you lose health when the bar is red.

That was the thing, I was exploring while 1/5 red bar and not realise it. Because something that small will still drain your health all the way down if you don't stop it. The jelly fish is good for that little bit and saves some vodka...hahaha

Now I get it to pay attention. When the needle goes up, you still have time to run through it or back out of it before a red bar starts. If a red bar just starts as you are getting out of it, you don't have to waste a medkit. Jellyfish will take that little bit away before your health takes a big hit.

All this will be short lived, but still good in the beginning.
