Mod to 'fix' the faction wars?
Currently playing with SRP.

I joined the free Stalkers and systematically helped remove the bandits from Cordon and Garbage, the trouble is as soon as I walk down the road for 2 minutes, the bandits have crawled out of nowhere and retaken the train hangar and/or the transitions between Cordon/Garbage. Now another issue I'm seeing is I need to retake one of the transitions, but none of the free stalkers are heading there. I'm getting pretty tired of having a large battle only for it to mean nothing two minutes later. Is there a mod anyone can recommend that makes destruction of enemy units a bit more permanent?

That is intended game design, no faction besides the renegades (and even they dont get wiped out 100%) can "lose"

i thought SRP changed it so that you can wipe out a faction though, i guess SurDno convinced Decane to change that at some point, so there as far as i know isnt any mod that makes it so that you can win

The depot is the only bandit respawn point from which bandits travel to capture points in the Cordon/Garbage. Bandits respawn at the depot if the player is elsewhere and the depot is not captured by another faction. Solution: Wait at the depot for stalkers to arrive and capture it - then bandits will stop respawning there.

Once the depot is captured by stalkers, the only way bandits can respawn and start capturing Cordon/Garbage positions again is if the stalkers lose control of the depot due to mutant attacks.

That's correct - but only if the player puts in the work to make sure friendlies actually capture the enemy base. Storming it solo, killing everyone there, and then leaving before allies capture it will almost certainly result in enemies respawning again before allies have a chance to seize control of it.

I had the whole of Garbage cleared and secured by Loners, but I think mutants attacked the and captured the train hangar like you said. My problem now is that I'm trying to recapture points but no loners are pushing up and securing them.

If you upload your save somewhere like https://easyupload.io/, I can check why the stalkers aren't moving. That's common in vanilla, but really shouldn't be happening in the SRP... assuming you're using v1.1.3.

I think i just wasn't waiting long enough. I loaded an earlier save and waited in the train hangar. Stalkers eventually made their way over either from Agroprom or Cordon but it took about 15 minutes. Another gripe was while in Agroprom Stalker base, it would constantly be under attack by either bandits from the cliff on the west, mutants from the north or bandits from the east train tunnel; it seemed that once I'd dealt with all three then enough time had passed for the cycle to begin again.

You can set objects_per_update in configs/alife.ltx to a higher value like 100 or even 1000 to make offline squads move faster. Just beware that this carries a performance hit, frequently in the form of micro-stutter.

The Agroprom attacks will stop once you've completed Orest's tasks.
