what kind-of question is that? of-course it's legal.
won't they ban me for installing a mod?
xD
Unfortunately, no. But Complete mod is utter garbage making the game a lot more casual and even cheaty and bringing a lot of new bugs. No one would advise you to install it. You'd better get the SRP mod that fixes bugs and other minor issues with the original game - https://github.com/Decane/SRP/
Id recommend the SRP mod. Its as vanilla a game experience you can get while fixing bugs.
What mod would you recommend to an old-timer, who has played all three vanilla games, at least, 5 times each till completion, also:
- enjoys new locations and navigating through anomaly fields / artifact hunting / using detector (optional);
[the following points list the mods i played or tried to play]
- tried Misery, couldn't care less about brown filter, tent poles and any other hardcore survival addons, added on top of basic slice of bread, kielbasa and can of food;
- played CoC story mode + after completing main missions, ran through all the locations once for artifacts, never went back to it;
- played OLR till completion once, thought it was really good (especially "new" restored maps + some new artifacts, like "gravity gun" compass);
- played Lost Alpha till completion once, liked "new" locations, new artifacts, elaborate dungeons (some plot developments were phenomenally stupid, though);
- tried Dear Air, OGSE for 5 minutes (hmm, another "wake up at Cordon, deliver X to a greedy bald guy", didn't want to play same maps again)
Complete 2009/2012 for Shadow Of Chernobyl was always fun for me because you could join factions. It was fun to join Monolith so you could really explore the center of the Zone. Made the game a tad bit easier but people hated it for some reason. Lost Alpha is still the best.
