Playing Stalker using a controller

Does anyone use a game pad to play this? I have a Logitech Dual Action, anyone knows how to set it up? Got it working with some other older Steam games, but this one doesn't sense it at all.

This game never had a controller support only K&B.

I've seen people play it with a gamepad on youtube. Maybe they were using some mod or something. I think Steam overlay can map gamepad keys to KB with some configuration.

I could only find someone playing with Steam Controller, but not a regular console controller

I'm sure if you can play it with Steam controller you can do it with any generic controller.

This might be because of Steam overlay not working in this game by default.
You can enable Steam overlay (and, hopefully, the Steam Controller support along with it) by running Steam.exe as administrator.

Though using an analog stick as a mouse cursor for inventory management in-game would be an absolute nightmare.
