I'm sure some of you also have a PS5. The base game is considerably worse on console because of joystick aiming, but VR is hands down the best way to play. Feels like a real action game.
I find console VR tends to be less problematic when it comes to plug and play in comparison to PC VR.
A few pointers that I have picked up on the way.
Go accurate handgun Rambo to the chest'ish area's since you won't need to conserve
pistol ammo since foe's allmost allways drop some when at around less than 5 to 10 rounds left. Though not sure it the game does that on harder difficulties.
I recommend the gunpowder increase briefcase for shotgun, rifle and other ammo types, explosives crafting. Don't bother crafting handgun ammo unless needed.
Use the lever action shotgun (if available) for enemies that have wooden shields, very handy in the castle. And try to save the shotgun ammo for that purpose as much a possible. Assign to firing hand shoulder for quick access. Easy to aim one handed and can be reloaded quickly one handed. Best to max out damage and ammo capacity before getting to the castle. Upgrading reload and fire rate is a waste with that gun. Can be dual wielded, so pistol in firing hand and lever shotgun in the other for the quick breakshield then handgun.
Getting a padded facial interface is highly recommended. Bobo VR accessories has one.
The facial interface that comes with PS5 VR is way to uncomfortable. Complete garbage as far as I'm concerned. why PS5 VR didn't provide a padded one instead, as a default is beyond me, but its a poor decision on their part.
Getting a roughly 3000mah USB-C battery pack to interchange between controllers for longer non-stop gameplay. Start with the right controller to keep it charged up then switch to the left controller when it runs low, then swap back when the right goes low. Can get roughly 20 hours straight.
Its rather compact and attaches directly to the controller. Though will need to be carefull with the controller its attached to because fast movement might cause the battery to fly off unless it velcro ziptied on. Plus it weighs the controller down giving a bit more real handgun weight to the controller. The one I use is 3300mah but its kinda hard to find. There are 5000mah versions but they are to heavy and stickout to far. The controller you use when using the knife should be the controller the battery is not on.
The knife play feels way better, though. Parrying by knocking the weapon away with your own hand feels much better and more intuitive, and being able to dual wield knife and pistol lets you combo knife, gunshot, melee/knife finishers in close combat with impactful and slick feeling results.
The scope seems to be just a crop then enlarging of what the aim eye resolution sees. Like taking a picture and zooming in to a area. Rather half @$$ed in consideration of what other firearm games can do with scopes.
I found with steadying the aim of the scope that its best to rest the non trigger arm elbow on my chest / upper midsection. Then slowly inhale while aiming and taking the shot.
Its that build of VR mode that is exclusive to PS5 / PSVR2. But if a modding company where to make their own version for PC and got Capcoms permission to do so they could. Or Capcom can make their own separate PCVR Mode but I'm not sure what their contact states though, whether any VR mode is limited to the exclusion contact or if its just that VR build. It also depends on length of contract. Cause if its like for example only 2 or 3 years we could get a PC OpenVR mode port of the PS5 VR version after that expires and if it doesn't get renewed.
Just use RE Framework.
Buy a playstation 5 and the VR set + the game, totaly worth it just like how in the OG people who owned the GC version didn't had the Ada assignement and Separate Ways mode so additionnal content on other versions is ok and actually a good thing, well that's what capcom fans will tell you to justify capcom selling cutcontent as paid DLC that the OG had included.
buy useless piece of hardware cuz of one game? ridiculous.
i will just swallow that and move on, hoping sony will become less insane in future and release PCVR version.
their business as of now is pretty much baaaad and there are a bunch of PS "exclusives" coming to PC in 2025, so the hope is real
The problem with titles that have already been released is simply that we don't know what the contract details are. Is it a 3 years period, 5 years, 10 years, or even permanent. But since there hasn't been any comment on this for any of the titles since RE7, it's safe to assume it's permanent. Everything else is just a happy surprise.
