RE7 was probably the first 'Resident Evil' game that you ever experienced. And I forgive you for that. One has to start somewhere.

RE7 is basically what brought the resident evil back into the resident evil games.
Re7 was much closer to the first original games than 4/5/6 were.

It is fine to dislike it but to say that it's not Resident Evil is just straight up wrong.

Go write in RE7 forums and play that game instead then.

4 is probably the only great resident evil game, including the remake. They are all either incredibly elusive and boring or just derivative of 4.

You and I see survival horror differently. If you can upgrade your guns and buy ammo, I don't see that as survival horror. Kind of like how Dead Space is also not really survival horror.

I have Revelations 1 and 2. Never played them.

Tbh all the RE games are different enough you can't really compare them objectively. I liked them all and they did a pretty good job keeping things interesting rather than 9 of the same exact games with just different characters and settings. My most replayed RE game is RE5 just cause it's fun. Is it the "best" RE game nah but even 6 the one everyone calls the worst has probably the coolest combat.

Because RE5 OG is a better overall game than RE4 OG. I've always found it more fun, with QOL changes that put it above RE4 OG.

Truthfully, I've never played RE1 OG so I never put it on the list. Remake was my first experience with RE1.

It's not Resident Evil anymore. Capcom should have started a new IP at that point. To slap the Resident Evil title on a game brings Resident Evil expectations. RE7 does not live up to the Resident Evil name.

Yeah now take this phrase and replace 7 with 4 and you'll be correct. It's hilarious that RE7 returned the series back to its roots and people are now pretending like RE4-6 is the 'real' Resident Evil. RE7 is the truest RE game since REmake1.

Jokes aside, spot on. I'd argue that RE3 remake belongs in limbo between action and horror, along with Revelations 1 if we're going there. It doesn't go into supplex and boulder punching levels of action, or where you collect cash and upgrade weapons - a feature shared among all other action REs.
It's actually very much based on the survival horror formula, just has more action in it.

I have both Revelations games, but haven't played them. Only placed games I've played in the list cause I wouldn't know where to put them otherwise. lol
