If you want to do Minimalist run without Cat Ears (like I did), then use Sentinel 9 AND Punisher AND Matilda.
The game drops will drop more pistol ammo if you have none in your case. So you can just keep all 3 guns fully loaded to always be secure on ammo supply.
Use Sentinel 9 with laser dot as your main gun. Use Punisher when enemies line up in a row (including the plaga that hop on enemies backs) or when dealing with enemies that have wooden shields. Use Matilda with stock as a last resort, for popping wiggly worms, and for bosses.
Do NOT craft ammo unless you run out in the middle of a fight or have zero ammo at all. The game will drop you more ammo when you get low, then you can use those resources to empty an entire Matida mag into a boss, craft more, then do it again.
I like it due to the exclusive (High crits) same as SG. It also sounds pleasing to my ears and it looks pretty cool.
There's no clear cut winner though, it all comes down to personal preference.
