Maybe they'll justifying it by having Ada fall and end up with a stick up her ass, because if I were Leon with her on the boat, she would be going overboard with that attitude.
You do realize that this is a remake, right? The vibe never really changed in terms of vocabulary and she still flirts with Leon constantly- it's just that her voice is completely flat, as if the voice actress was merely reading the lines off of a page with no VA skill whatsoever. It's EXTREMELY noticeable, especially to somebody who has known the Ada character and her role in the original RE4 for 20+ years.
Sounds like some military grade cope there. The VA literally stated it was her own approach to the character ("Ada is a survivor" yadda yadda) rather than trying to fit an established character of the established franchise.
Depends on who's "you". If it's Capcom, then every time I hear DLC I imagine there's some super strict accountant who will never allocate more resources to the development than a few percent of what the DLC is projected to earn - leading to small DLCs made by a few people over a few years.
I mean, in the ideal world they would have need to let the VA go, find a good one (most likely unionized, so it's not just the case of "pay twice" but "pay more" as well) and revoice the game.
And well, base game already sold, so will the DLC - so why spend more money, when you can... you know... not spend it?
And if "you" means us gamers, then you will read many more attempts to cope and rationalize like I quoted at the start of this post. People will buy it again, and if (when?) they see the VA is still bad - they'll make a few threads about it. The threads will be closed after a while, and then it will be business as usual.
And then we get the announcement for RE5make, or maybe Code Veronica with the scene where Steve checks out Claire's bottom cut because ESG money.
I just installed the mod after I learned about it here. And strange how you praise this game yet called the original RE4 a "gorgeous outstanding timeless game". I mean, who even asked for the remake in the first place? The original was perfectly playable still, not like it was the jump of RE1-3 to their remakes.
That being said, the game itself is better than I thought it was going to be, especially in terms of fleshing out the story of RE4, and they are finally nailing down this third person gameplay... not unlike MGSV did for that franchise. Again, the problem is that it is weighed down by shoddy voice acting that really, REALLY lowers the overall experience. And by the way, Krauser and Saddler both sound bad too, but to be fair, Krauser was always a dumb character. I'm pretty sure they only shoehorned him in the first game because Operation Iraqi Liberation was in full swing and everybody was making a statement on the US military.
