Subjectively, if you personally want it and decide to buy it, then it is worth it to you.
Realistically though, no. None of it is worth it. It is just a lot of nickel and diming that capcom is using to overly monetise the franchise.

The guns are cool, more variety.

The map is weirdly double-edged: it adds treasure in the game, making it easier, but there's no way to turn it off.

The tickets are a light form of pay to win.

I mean, the combat system is excellent, including weapon feel and impact, so I'd imagine the extra weapons also feel good too.

Treasure map is a paid cheat. I like the addition but should have been given as an optional free DLC imo.

I don't really think it should have existed in the first place honestly. If it was free, it could have been a part of assisted mode, but instead of "more treasure to find" it was "things cost less to do". As a paid DLC, not a chance full stop. It's P2W and there's no other way around it (Pay-2-Skip-Grind if you want to be REALLY semantic about it, but that's one kind of P2W anyway)

Well yeah i can agree, partially.

Is the treasure map really that much of a pay to win? I thought it would just reveal the treasures that already exist.. Does it reveal treasure that is ONLY obtainable if you have this dlc?

Yeah, in the original you buy a normal map for treasure from the merchant. I think they understood that if they made that paid, there'd be a complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about paywalling content from the OG game.

I can't say it didn't surprise me that they did this though.

RE7 - TONS of varied content DLCs ranging from story expansions to arcade modes, to just silly little bonus modes.

RE2R - Very short story campaign DLCs, Pay-to-skip bonus unlocks, costumes, original soundtrack paywall.

RE3R - Costumes, Soundtrack paywall, skip unlocks.

RE8 - Skip unlocks, Weapons, Cosmetic trinkets, extremely overpriced story DLC, DLC FOR YOUR DLC.

Paid advantages were inevitable from this downward trend they've had with monetising the series. I dread how RE5R is going to be treated with the co-op side. They'll use it as a way to shoehorn more cosmetics in, aswell as probably weapon skins and more weapons, if not a ruddy online progression system akin to a battle pass...

Whats more likely to come first though , RE5 remake or a new entry like RE9??
Although it is obvious if a remake is going to come out its going to be 5 because it looks like its heading that way
Krypto Oct 13, 2023 @ 7:34am
Considering they've released 3 full remakes since 2019, I think it's a safe bet to assume that RE5 is next, given that they're teasing Wesker in RE4 and showcasing what he might be like as a boss in RE5.

RE9 is probably a few years away.

Would rather they did Code Veronica honestly. 5, much like OG 4, was fine as is. Accessible on most platforms, and gameplay was a bit old but not TOO dated. Same can't be said for CV.
But yeah RE9 will be a way off yet. Standard cycle for that sorta game right now is around 4 years, and even if we assume they started a bit before Village came out (with the concept and story and such) there's still easily 2 years to go. Remakes are cheaper and faster to put out. Also two different teams doing them iirc. One for main series, one for remakes, so it wouldn't be too strange if we saw RE5R or CVR 6-12 months before RE9

Why call it P2W when it just single player game.If you want easy to win you can use mod anyway, there are ton of them that make game easy.About the map I saw some post say that you can turn it off via manage dlc in steam.btw dlc weapon is cool especially shotgun feel good to use it.
