Resident Evil 4

Resident Evil 4

Ver estadísticas:
First game i played where Hair settings affect FPS...
and of all games, it's Resident Evil

EDIT: I apologize for the misunderstanding, i should've specified the FPS issue, the only part where the fps drop is some select cutscenes. Hair settings turn on has zero effect on my gaming experience, no lag at all. Thanks for the responses

They don't if you have a PC that is up to scratch with recommended or higher.

lol you don't remember hairworks in the tomb raider games?

Should have seen TressFX in Tomb Raider 2013. That ♥♥♥♥ would destroy your FPS. Much better in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Was so bad for us Nvidia users at the time LOL, My GTX 580 was crippled by it, now I run Radeon. They did fix it eventually though.

I never played Tomb Raiders, i did try playing for a few minutes and it was a PS1 Tomb Raider

Yeah, Tomb Raider would do that back when I had a 680?, I think. Heck, a PS4 could probably do it.

Nope. TressFX was extremely demanding. Pure Hair in Rise was much better implemented, but still could be demanding. It wouldn't drop your FPS like a rock though.

It turned my game into a slide show the first time I tried it with a 780ti.

You know the pain of a single setting killing the frames!

I don't think I'd qualify it as pain more like disappointment because it was a pretty neat feature at the time and I wanted to use it. Anyway it got patched and I got better hardware so it wasn't an issue later on.

I meant "pain" as in turning the setting on and watching the FPS counter go to single digits.

About the same kind of pain as buying Arkham Knight on PC and watching the FPS counter not exist.

I'm a bit skeptical that the hair setting is tanking your FPS. There has to be something else in the play. What are your specs? Do you have RT on? Maybe you've cranked the Resolution Rendering past 100%?
