Nope. TressFX was extremely demanding. Pure Hair in Rise was much better implemented, but still could be demanding. It wouldn't drop your FPS like a rock though.
It turned my game into a slide show the first time I tried it with a 780ti.
You know the pain of a single setting killing the frames!
I don't think I'd qualify it as pain more like disappointment because it was a pretty neat feature at the time and I wanted to use it. Anyway it got patched and I got better hardware so it wasn't an issue later on.
I meant "pain" as in turning the setting on and watching the FPS counter go to single digits.
About the same kind of pain as buying Arkham Knight on PC and watching the FPS counter not exist.
