Ammo/loot disappearing?

I'll destroy crates and leave ammo behind to retrieve later when needed, but it will disappear randomly. This wasn't happening previously, but then it just started happening. I'll save after opening a crate, but its contents will disappear after saving, regardless if time and distance away from the loot.

Strange. I've had some exposed loot just staying in the same spot through multiple chapters.

Dropped or found loot randomly disappears or remains without any reason I've begin to theorize.

The only loot that doesn't disappear between chapters is treasure.

Treasure will remain, but loot disappears entirely randomly.

Are basic pesetas counted as treasure or loot? I know that pesetas don't disappear.

If you pick it all up less will drop. You leave it and force the game to drop more ammo, because you have less in your inventory.

I've had some disappear, but more often it's ammo and even herbs.

Loot dropped from enemies had a timer, and still does on this version. The problem is loot from containers disappearing, they've never done that.
