so what is the point of infecting yourself with las plagas if this makes....
.....your body twisted and unattractive to ladies? Ada would not even look as the insect humanoid.
So do I get this right? Story is very similar to RE Village? So some Spanish lord finds insects, finds out that insects are bad, tries to protect the world from las plagas but little Ramos is crazy in the head and unleashes hell upon earth? So exactly the same story like Village where Mother Miranda found this creature underground and harvested its genetic material to create monstrosities.
I am not sure I understand this right? What is the point of being mutated beyond recognition? What is the benefit here.

All villages live in old, mouldy houses. Nobody is happy.
People in the castle are not happy yet they still want to have insect in them.

Pretty sure none of the characters were mutated beyond recognition until their encounter with the main character.

Luis even talked about creating a version of the parasite that doesn't alter the host

Most people were tricked or forced into hosting parasites, don't think anyone wanted it.

Take Krauser for an example - UNLIMITED POWER!!!!!!!

Krauser needed to go inside Los Iluminatos as he was aksed to do it by Wesker.

People in village were tricked by Saddler and Salazar to inject Plagas. They used the leader of village who received better version of Plaga from Saddler to talk to villagers and explain them that Los Iluminados are the right and only way to achieve absolution.

Depending on the Plaga they received, they retained most if not all of they physical appearance and mental capabilties.

They only mutate after suffering severe injuries or by activly triggering the process like Krauser or Saddler.

In re4make, one of the file mentioned Ramon Salazar should had been in the grave. But he revived (with las plaga)

Gloria las plaga

Morrir es vivir

Was he really dead? I think he was serverly or terminally ill before getting his Plaga.

I legit laughed out loud at the op....that's exactly what sums up this "riveting" story....but everyone came for the roundhouse kicks tbh.

only salazar krauser and mendez took the plagas willingly and they have the dominate strain which lets them retain control of their body while also controlling other plagas users

as for the villagers none of them had a say in the matter, most of them got infected while excavating the old plagas mines

There is also a note from one of the mine workers /foreman. It shows pretty well, how the Plagas are messing around with his mind and perception over time.

there is an ancient depiction of las plagas mutation happening, and the ancient salazar went on a crusade to eliminate the las plagas for this

Story is like RE8 because RE8 ripped off pretty much everything about RE4 but did it worse.

As far as I know history goes like this:

In the past there was a cult called Los Iluminatos who believed that the only to achieve absolution and freedom is by spreading around parasite called Plaga.
The first Castellan of castle found them very dangerous for people and ordered to kill anyone from the cult and seal Plaga deep underground where cultist won't be able to reach it.

Time passed and Salazar at the very young age became castellan of the castle. He was physically weak and he was ill, but then doctor came and rescued him from death. The name of this doctor was Saddler. Saddler was very interested in Plaga and Los Iluminatos to point he became a leader of dying cult. Saving Salazar changed a lot.
Saddler was able to manipulate Ramon, who believed that his ancestors did a very bad thing and the only way to atone for their sins is to give everything back to Los Iluminados and thus villagers were sent to mines to recover sealed Plaga.

At the beginning Saddler was afraid that after so much time Plaga died out, but in truth "it was just sleeping. Waiting for hosts". Miners inhaled Plaga and in this way became the first hosts of the parasite. After some time miners reached the amber with dominant Plaga which were giving powers to hosts but, host weren't controlled by parasite.

Saddler injected the strongest plaga into himself while Salazar and father Mendez received dominant species of plaga.
Later father Mendez encourage people to became a host of Plaga, but childrens werent able to survive the process, so only adults survived and went under control of Saddler.

Even some of the Bosses are similar.

Moreau= De Lago
Lady D= Mendez or Verdugo?
Mother Miranda= Saddler
Heisenberg=?
Donna=?

My god can't we just have video games tropes without people constantly comparing everything as if there can be only one?

Since the beginning of entertainment we've constantly had plots that borrows from each other. It holds itself well enough to put a game together.

Video games themselves always have taken away from the concept of hero versus villain in a countless amount, just enjoy their take of the story device rather than despise something that'll inevitably lead to double standards.
