hopefully they will deliver this for free, but i agree, old krauser in re4 was better and the fight was better too.
OG Krauser was actually intimidating; first time he appears to Leon is literally a QTE which, even if Leon survives, shows how Krauser's knife-aim is literally so surgical that he still manages to scar Leon.
Remake Krauser throws a knife in Luis' back like a common thug.
Not to mention that the original Operation Javier from Darkside Chronicles added a sympathetic backstory to Krauser, along with context to Leon's "examine" line of how Krauser "used to be a good guy."
Remake Krauser is just burnt at the U.S. Government for leaving him and his men to die during Remake Operation Javier (which we don't even know the full details of). "Government has all the power, so why can't I take some for myself?"
Another great character who loses all his nuance to HD graphics.
This is where you see it all of where Krauser got this ideal that the bioweapons stuff was such a grand POWER he could take on and control.
Just gotta get through the flashbacks to re2 and code veronica throughout the game.
Ofc that was for og re4 krauser, re4remake krauser is kinda his own thing now.
I think they did a considerable improvement in the Remake, by having Krauser be the one that trained Leon instead, rather than just being comrades, plus hes introduced way earlier, appearing first on the Castle rather than the Island, and they put more depth on his motives, about the whole Operation Javier, how he grew disillusioned with the government, and how he became obsessed with power.
He is my favorite boss fight in the game but his inclusion is poorly written. Should have just been some hired gun to take out Ada and Luis instead. His connection to Leon is nonsense.
And during the fight Krauser manages to slash Leon's leg, before kicking him to the arena.
Plus, the remake does heavily hint at the arm injury as well, with one of the scenes focusing on his arm and showing the scar, and during the boss fight Leon mentions the injury as well, and while he seems to act like he doesnt care much about what happened to his squad, it clearly weights on him as seen on his camp, keeping all the dog tags, as well as the documents of the incident and how it was covered up by the government.
At the end of the day he reached the same conclusion, power is all that matters.
