Game worked perfectly before, now stutters from the menu and gets worse every second, but it's immediatly unplayable
Well, title about says it

For reference, i have a 2.9ghz i5 12core, 16go ram, Nvidoa RTX 3060 with 12go vram

the game worked perfectly at high graphics until now, i got to chapter 11, at the end, saved and quit the game yesterday, then started it again today, but the game starts stuttering (no matter the graphics settings) from the main menu, in game and in cinematic, making it impossible to play as it goes down under 20fps in about a minute.

Any idea why, and how to fix it?

I've verified file integrity, changed the settings to no avail, updated and restarted the computer a few times... nothing helps, in fact the longer i spent in the menu the harder it was to navigate said menu as even there the fps are dead.

Ya its gotta be something we can fix. Never had a game work perfectly for 12 hours and then just suddenly stop working.

UPDATE!!!! I JUST FOUND A SOLUTION!
The problem was apaprently caused by FULL SAVE SLOTS. Yesterday my save slots got full and for some reason this caused a very long black screen at launch AND the massive stutters IN GAME. I deleted all my saves manually from the userdata folder and now the game boots up as fast as before and I have zero stutters! Try this and let me know if it helps!

I Even tried to uninstall and download the game again, no change.
20fps max on lowest gaphical settings, about 10 on what i used before (i had 60fps then).
Going back to an earlier save changed nothing, just in case.
What's most upsetting is that it worked perfectly for 15 hours.

Has something updated on your PC like a driver? Nothing in game has updated to cause any changes.

Absolutely nothing, that's the weirdest part. I closed the game, watched some youtube, turned off the pc, went to bed. Then today, turned on the pc, launched steam, ctarted the game, continued, it worked as usual, i entered the elevator out of the cavers with Luis, then the cutscene started, and got progressively so stuttered that i stopped it and went back to menu, and now everything was stuttering and low fps, has been since. It's okay at game launch but gets worse and worse over a minute or two

Currently re-downloading the game from scratch, will tyr that again tomorrow.
I tried installing the latest driver again, by getting it from the nvidia website, didn't change anything, but is there something else i should do? i don't understand what you meant

Thank god I'm not the only one, game worked perfect with almost ultra settings last week and then I boot it up today and just getting the most annoying stutter as I walk around with leon's hair jumping around. FPS is fine, tried restarting my pc and that didnt work.

Did you find something?
Reinstall the Nvidia drivers, it worked for me.

Yep, now getting 30-70 fps with no changes to any settings after whatever latest patch they did.

Average ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Denuvo game honestly.

The same exact thing happened to me yesterday! I was at chapter 14, I had zero stutter for 20 hours straight and then, suddendly, when the cutscene for Krauser boss fight began, a wild and constant stutter started and prolongued itself until the end of the game. Now I have stutters in menus and in NG+ too! So weird! I also noticed that now the game suddendly takes a very long time to launch, when I boot it up some logos appear and then I have to wait something like 60 seconds of black screen before the title screen is shwoed.
