too much action

i like how this game is lauded and hailed as one of the best games ever, yet people complain about there being too much action in re 5 and re 6. uh leon has murdered hundreds of villagers so far in this game, i kinda wish they had gone the re 2 re 3 route and had fewer enemies and you could shoot their limbs off instead.as it is now you have leon massacring dozen after dozen of villagers. im not complaining tho i like the action resident evil more than the ethan scared one. but its just so funny that people always complain about it being too much focused on action than horror. this game belongs more with the re 5 re 6 games than the re 2 re 3 ones

anyway fun game but very unbalanced some parts are well done then you have crap parts that shouldnt have been greenlit

Because the game balance is near perfect, the game pacing is near perfect, the mechanics are near perfect as well. RE5 and RE6 were nowhere near perfect. And the damn QTEs were getting old even in original RE4 and they put more of them in RE5 and 6.

5 is my limit with the action orientation, 6 seems like a parody.

Re4 was just a game of supreme quality in general, way ahead of everything else at the time.
5 and 6 couldn't come close to it and by the time they were out the industry had already caught up, they sucked as action games meanwhile 4 is considered one of the best action games ever.

Main reason why RE4 has always been fan-favorite and extremely popular is it's perfect balance between Action AND Horror, both matter equally. Remake does it even better than OG. I would never say it belongs into same group as RE5/RE6. It belongs more into same group with Dead Space and The Evil Within.

Yeah I actually think that Remake did some of the horror elements better than the original even.

Well yeah, main reason why, is because both The Evil Within and OG RE4 are directed by Shinji Mikami. He took some similar elements from OG RE4 and put them in the first chapters of The Evil Within, while improving/adding new stuff to the rest of the game, like more horror, improved upgrade system and stealth. And now RE4 Remake clearly took some inspiration from The Evil Within (no surprise there, because Shinji Mikami gave RE4R team some advice).

Hmm, yeah true. Shinji Mikami is THE game creator for me, always was, always will be.

Go look at the sales numbers of RE4 across multiple platforms, I think you'll find they don't agree with your assessment.

I sure hope RE9 will have way more section like Chris at the end of RE8, don't know why ppl hate so much on action it's great and adrenaline inducing.. mixed with the slower sections focused on horror it's a great feeling.
