Also, you don't have to fight it, just survive until the elevator arrives by parrying, evading and kiting it. At least that was possible in the original, if I remember correctly.
At the end of the day, killing him will always be a ammo sink, its up to you to decide if its worth it, even more if you have the resources for it, you get a 30k Treasure for killing him if i recall. (and theres an Achievement for killing him and a challenge for doing it without freezing him)
One common strat in the OG was to just blast him with a rocket launcher, but since we no longer get a free one, and they're considerably more expensive, thats not really an option.
One thing worth mentioning though, Salazar has a secret weakness, which you can use to take a large portion of his HP instantly A freaking Golden Egg, no im not kidding, for whatever reason using that against him will take a huge portion of his HP and instantly stun him as well, you can do a sorta quick detour to get a free Golden Egg in his throne, this can help to both kill him faster and help when low in ammo
Aye was considering if maybe I should just avoid him and get to the elevator like in the OG, that being said part of me feels like killing him would be faster than waiting if I have the means to do so.
Ah good so using my better weapons during frozen state is better overall, yeah I figured he had a large health pool like in the OG and it is a shame we don't get the free rpg haha
Though dang nice thank you, I wasn't really expecting Ramon to be all that difficult anyway but knowing a golden egg nukes him (which is easily garunteed from doing that merchant request) is defs helpful for later.
Verdugo just took too much ammunition and I also felt like it doesn't stay frozen as long as on the other difficulties.
E- Upon further thought, it may be re-set when approaching a new boss fight.
Maybe once per chapter? I know I tried the same where I used the rocket launcher on Verdugo and then wanted it for the dynamite and it wasn't available but can't think of other instances that I've tried.
Or I guess yeah just certain checkpoints trigger a refresh.
Usually only lasts 2 or 3 freezes, ends things way quicker, and he drops valuable treasure.
Well, at least I get to collect the treasures from the dynamite area, I guess. Still, those chainsawers eat ammo like nothing.^^
