Is it worth £50?
Genuine question.

I very much enjoyed RE2 remake, and to a lesser extent RE3. I do enjoy these games in general, but I've never found them to have much replayability.

I keep hearing great things about this title. Is it worth full price?

Only if you preorder. Now is a no. Wait for sale.

No additional content and without backtracking / running back and forth to pick up treasures to stay in the fight against bullet spongey enemies the playtime is 4-5 hours.

So yeah, if you didn't preorder wait for a sale with all DLC.

Depends what you, yourself find value in. People will only be able to tell you what they value. I for example find more value is something like Resident Evil 4 remake at £50 than say Assassins Creed Vahalla or Hogwarts Legacy or the upcoming Diablo 4.

Yup, it's one of the better games out there, very faithful to the original material while changing the thinks that didn't make sense like running from stupid boulders, giant robot shooting lasers and sci-fi contraptions in a medieval castle. The game is a bit more grounded in realism and it's great.

Definitely. Specially if you enjoy RE4. Game is a lot harder than OG specially on professional.

I love challenges and this game's gameplay to me is flawless with knife parries and skill just rewarding you from start to finish.

Your replay value in this game comes in the form of:

- Challenge runs: like no heal, no merchant, knife and handgun only.

- Different object and puzzle placement in higher difficulties. (also AI behaviour)

- Speedrunning for unlockables

- Replay the story in a different language, (japanese if you want to make your game bootleg anime)

- Mercenaries, on 7th of April (free dlc)

Nothing else comes to mind.

Easily worth full price. I got over 20 hours out of my first run, and like all RE games it's worth revisiting the game for challenge runs and extras.

Really.
This is what youre saying to new players?

4 to 5 hours playtime? When S+ is absolutely speed running the game to get 5 hours and 30 mins and that is if you KNOW how to deal with enemies, new mechanics, all treasure locations, and stuff.

OP ignore anyone telling you crap like this.

Here you go OP.
And Ive played A LOT of RE4 2005 and knew what to expect and my first playthrough getting everything and enjoying the experience was around 20 hours to include S ranking all the ranges.

My Professional S+ rank was just under 4 hours but the post quoted is for people who actually KNOW the game.

Even if you are just fighting the enemies and not doing treasure hunting and its your first playthrough expect 10 hours.

I'm on chapter 15 of my first run and I'm over 20 hours. I haven't rushed BUT I also haven't took my time. I am very much looking forward to my second playthrough which I suspect will still be at least 13 hours.

Fake news.

2 hours in you enter the castle area, get the Exclusive upgrade ticket, get infinite ammo on your Chicago or Handcannon and breeze through the game from that point forward.

You don't need to know anything, it's just a corridor shooter with yellow paint of handholding everywhere.

Wow you're so cool for being good at a game you already know too well or followed guides for...

Don't listen to this tryhard OP. I only just made it to the castle area (start of chapter 5) and you can see my current playtime is at 6.7 hours. Playing for the first time you wont be rushing through if you're actually having fun exploring and working things out for yourself. Heaps of side quests and treasures and secrets to find that make going back to previous areas really fun kinda like a metroidvania.
