REmake 4's Biggest issue is the RNG Hitstun
I can live with Leon's movement feeling heavy and loose. I can also put aside the issues with making the knife tied durability due to the added functionality (instead of just making the parry timing more strict). However, the RNG hitstun really spoils the game's combat.

Now that something as basic as hitstun is unreliable, it's much harder to be confident in your options. I did manage to get used to it and still have fun to a decent extent, but it was hard to ignore the frustration that comes with that degree of inconsistency.

If this issue wasn't there REmake 4 would easily eclipse RE4 for me. Oh well, as least it's not as bad as it was in RE8. Guess I'll have to wait for modders to sort it out.

Figure out the averages and then work with it, find out if whatever strategy you are doing is good with the results or bad.

Well that's the thing, I shouldn't have to work with averages, It should all be consistent like in OG RE4. I'm not even expecting instant stagger on every enemy type in the game, I just want it on the basic enemies like in the original.

Id rather it be slightly random. It makes it more unpredictable. You can still master the game, you just have less pinpoint control over the exact variables.

I'm fine with some randomness, but I feel like it should come from the enemy drops and the tactics the AI uses each encounter. Having hitstun be RNG just feels like too much. You can only master RNG so to a degree.

Yes you're right. Whenever there's RNG, there can be no strategy. Because strategy is knowing the outcome of your actions and acting accordingly. RE4make takes that away from us.

Play on Assisted is the best advice I can give you. Stuff once again takes 1 headshot to stagger instead of up to 4. Closest to the original experience as it gets.

I agree. Playing on hardcore+ feels frustrating and unfair due to the damage model, almost non existent i-frames and enemies who seem to teleport off screen now and then. Your best bet on pro seems to be running away while slowly thinning out enemies since you can no longer rely on stuns and cc or even parry due to inconsistency. Playing on assisted really makes you realise how unbalanced the higher difficulties are imo. FYI there is a mod on nexus which changes the damage treshold for stuns but afaik it only works for the village section enemies currently.

Just adjust, its really not that difficult. The game would be SIGNIFICANTLY easier if you could reliably stagger basic ganado in a single headshot, so much easier that it would probably be even easier than OG re4. If you want reliable stagger kicks, learn to parry.

That is the biggest load of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ive ever heard lmao. Strategy is about being able to make a plan but also about being able to adapt on the fly. Being upset that one shot staggers are gone because liked how satisfying they could be is fine, complaining because you think its unfair or unbalanced just means that youre bad.

That's tactics. Doing what you can with what you have.

Use the silver ghost exclusive or the red 9. Problem solved.

Red-9 is old and busted now, Handgun crit got nerfed. Blacktail is the new hotness

Really? Because I have no problems popping heads reliably with the SG, and have no problems 2 tapping enemies with the red9 on professional once fully upgraded. So your argument seems to be personal opinion.

Its not so bad so long as you aren't putting yourself in a position where you need a stun or you will be in trouble. If the enemy is lunging then you shouldn't be trying to headshot them you should either back away or get ready to parry. Go for headshots from a safe distance, you will have time to run in and melee them if it does stun.

I mean theyre both still good, every weapon in the game is viable. The Blacktail is just optimal
