Now all handguns have actual choice with it and downsides with that choice. Making each just as viable depending on your play style.
I mean he was talking about the remake's standard difficulty, so you don't have to rely on just perfect parries in that.
That being said though, in no universe is this game's standard harder than OG's professional, though i would definitely say this game's Professional is harder than OG's Professional if doing a fresh save and not using bonus weapons, but even if you are using bonus weapons, the first 6 chapters are still really damn hard.
