The True Purpose of Shooting Range All Medals + S R ank
I just found something I've seen no one else mention but should be obvious so I'm not sure why this hasn't been said, or at least I've not seen it mentioned.

If you complete shooting range 1-A through 4-C and get S rank in all, and possibly all medals (can't confirm if S rank, alone, is enough because I did both at once) you get guaranteed gold reward balls from the gacha machine. I was tossing loads of coins in and no matter the combo used I got 5 gold balls in a row. I went to save and then used spindle to buy enough for 3 more tries which also all 3 produced gold balls for a total of 100% 8/8 attempts of gold balls after completing shooting range with S ranks and all medals for all range challenges.

It might be worth hording tokens for just this, even, and doing it at the end of the game.

Further, does anyone know if this carries over to NG+ or if you have to redo the challenges to get this effect?

If that's true, that'd actually be a motivation for me NOT to finish them all at S rank. Some of my favorite charms so far actually came from the bottom/silver rank oddly enough.

Which one are those out of curiosity? I doubt I have them yet but will keep an eye out.

I wonder if you can get a check mark and even coins for that "Every +1,000" on each challenge. Besides that, I already got everything so far.

Token color doesn't matter. Each token pattern contains a predetermined set of rewards, a ladder.

My 3 gold ladder was the worst set of rewards. That said, if you do all the shooting ranges the same time, it gives you the best amount of "mapping" potential to see what ladder combo gives you the best charms.

Literally got 8 golds in a row on 2s1g.

For those that actually want to not just cheat.

I should preface answering that by stating I have a nice little 'build' going centered around the bolt thrower and rifle, with handgun as a backup.

With that out of the way, I'm using the Attache Case that gives an extra chance to find Resource (L), the Zealot charm (bottom tier/all silver) which gives a 20% chance of extra bolts when crafting, Dr Salvador (bottom tier/all silver as well) a charm that gives 20% of extra rifle rounds when crafting, and swapping between the Green Herb charm from the Deluxe when in the field, and using the Leon w/ Handgun charm (rare charm/this was either one gold 2 silver or 2 gold one silver to possibly proc - so not sure if its a gold or silver ball) for 30% knife repair cost reduction.

It's been working really well so far, so yeah, except for possibly the last one, none of those are gold balls.

I'm not talking about token color. Talking about the reward ball. Gold ball equals epic (pink) and rare (blue) charms.

Ah, so far I'm using
- Ashley (epic) for +50% health recovery for green herbs
- Iluminados Emblem (epic) for +20% melee critical hit rate
- DLC Green Herb (rare) for +15% health recovery for green herbs

I was using Dr. Salvador like you for a while until I got the emblem just a moment ago. Sadly, all my other gold balls were rare's and a pointless resell +100% value of recovery items epic beetle. Gotta get more tokens now >.<

Nice! IMO, I think the Illuminados Emblem is probably going to go down as the best charm in the game, so that's definitely a good find! And the rhinoceros beetle recovery charm is actually a good one to hang onto - just got that last one last night too! I was happily surprised when it doubled the sell price of the viper I turned in (2000 instead of 1000), and I'm just wishing I had this charm a few chapters ago when I turned in a ton of eggs - I'd be rolling in cash! The trick is, there's unfortunately a few charms in the game that are ONLY suited for when you're at the merchant, so ideally, you'll want to swap the set you have in the field for a different set at the merchant.

For example, I'm pretty sure my set at the merchant will be the knife repair charm, the 100% recovery sell bonus one you mentioned, and the one I haven't seen yet that gives 5% off all weapon upgrades.

And I literally just finished the second shooting range last night, and am still not sure (at least from what I've seen) about the part Funspire said about token color not mattering, I can attest to the predetermined part of the equation. Basically, after you finish a shooting range, save first and then start putting different combinations of tokens in the machine to see what your options are.

I just saved up 120 gold tokens and used them all at once. Got every charm in the game, never did more than the first shooting range.

That's because the RNG seed is pre-determined before you even spend a single coin. You will get the same rewards for same combination of coins every single time on the same save file.

So every time you put 3 silver coins you get the same reward. If you put 3 silver coins 3x in a row you will get the same 3 rewards every time after reloading a save.

If you load a save before you used the 3x 3 silver coins and then use say 3 gold coins and afterwards use 2 silver and one gold and only after then use the 3x 3 silver coins the rewards will be exactly the same as when you used the 3x 3 silver coins for the first time.

It doesn't matter in which order you use these combinations. The prizes pool for every gold coin is seperate and each combination has a pre determined order of rewards. I don't know when it's determined, but it's tied to your save file, most likely the Seed is generated when you start a new game.

So the best way to manipulate this situation is to make save file with maximum amount of coins you can have at the moment. Spend as much of one combination as you can and then write the rewards you got reload and do the same for another combination.

There are 4 combinations in total. After you know the prize order for every combination. Go for the ones that have the best rewards.
