Do costumes effect whether you can get an s+ or the handcannon?

specifically i'm talking about normal ones, and not the ones that actually do anything, like the infinite ammo ears and the ashley armor. but sure, how about the ones that do anything?

Costumes don't affect your ranking whatsoever, nor the ability to get the Handcannon (only bonus weapons will)

S+ Professional = anything goes, just not on a NG+ run, has to be a fresh run.

Handcannon = No Bonus weapons, eg. Primal Knife, Chicago typewriter, INF RPG, also no NG+ allowed, has to be finished with an A rank in a NG Professional run.

Other than that you're free to use costumes with perks, like the Ashley Knight, and the Chicken hat that provides roughly 40% dmg reduction.

does handcannon really need to be A rank? just reading the description in the extra content menu just said you had to beat the game on professional new game with no bonus weapons

Handcannon can be any rank, just have to beat Professional with no bonus weapons and on a NG save file, I took my time leisurely on it and got it just fine.
