RE2 Remake or RE4 Remake? What do you prefer?
Didn't include RE3 as it felt more like a dlc for RE2. For me personally I prefer RE2. Both great remakes that I had a lot of fun with. So interested to see what RE Fans prefer out of the two.

4 by a landslide. I love this game as much as I did the original back on gamecube.

RE 2 Remake is one of my favorite games. I never played the original RE 4, but I enjoyed the RE 4 Remake even more than 2. Here's my review, if you want to check it out:

Both are really great, but imo the lack of a fleshed out B campaign and a lack of Leon/Claire scenes (my only two complaints from RE2R) really hurts RE2R when you look at how complete of a re-imagining RE4R is. My literal only complaint about RE4R right now is that Del Lago kinda sucks and Ada's voice actor being embarrassing, which are both smaller problems in scale to the two main issues I have with RE2R. I still love RE2R though.

Both of them are the GOAT's of their respective types of games.

For something more truly survival horror, I think RE2 Remake had some of the best WTF moments that truly made me jump. Also I like the style of that game a lot, and it's got quite a bit of replayability with two campaigns and two versions of each campaign.

RE4 Remake is obviously more of a FOTM rn since it just released, but this game is also the respective GOAT for more action survival gameplay. I'm having a ton of fun with this, and the Knife parry mechanic on Professional makes me feel like a BAMF when I land them correctly.

It's hard to say which one I like better, but I feel like RE2 Remake will probably have more lasting appeal after I've completed professional difficulty and done most of the extra challenges. Things like the RE2 Randomizer, although with pretty limited options is something that will probably have me coming back to it in the future. I've gone through probably 10+ runs of RE1 Remake with the randomizer runs already prior to RE2/RE4 and that game is always fun to attempt again.

2 because I prefer Zombies over angry vine people, but both are really good.
Also worth a mention, I'm from the age group that was there when The original OG RE1 was released on PSX, so RE:2 is Peak RE for many(most?) of us. I think people from the next gen where 4 is their Peak will probably go with reRE:4

I prefer RE2 just because I prefer fewer, more powerful enemies and less ammo along with the consistent option to run away.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, no matter how wrong it is.

Haha no but although I can't imagine RE5 being better than either game, I did have quite a bit of enjoyment with the RE5 coop back in the day.

Resident Evil 4 is a 18 years old game buddy. You call that recent?
Compared to RE2 and 3, yeah, it is. It was released on GameCube and PS2, looked fine, and played like a modern (at the time) action shooter. Really the only thing that's actually missing is moving while shooting. Resident Evil Revelations proved it was possible on weak hardware.

I actually take it back- I started my first hardcore run today and Del Lago is much, much better on hardcore.

Can't compare them really. RE2 is a better survival horror. RE4 is a better action. Just like back in the day.
