This barely has a higher score than RE8: How?

>way too easy
>dull, easy boss fights
>terrible enemy variety (fighting pretty much the same thing the whole time)
>small numbers of enemies in any given fight, no intensity
>an entire section that seems like lazy padding spent "solving" "puzzles"--walking around small room to find solutions that are just given to you, no combat, ending with fake "boss fight" (doll level)

RE4:
>long
>challenging enough to be fun
>tons of enemies at once
>combat encounters keep varying and make the game steadily more intense
>meaningful enemy variety
>many great boss fights

I really don't get it. In my opinion, these games aren't even in the same universe in terms of quality. To me, RE4 is massively better in practically every way that matters. Wondering what people think and what I might be missing about RE8.

Lots of people spend plenty of time explaining why they like things. I'm sure some people out there are willing to try to explain why they think RE8 is on a par with RE4, quality-wise.

RE games as a whole aren't the standard of comparison I was using. In general terms, less than 10 hours isn't great as far as game length goes. RE4 is quite a bit longer, clearly, and long enough to be a good length for an action shooter.

its on par with re4 because re8 is of the times. 2 years ago that was peak gaming, compared to everything else.

re4 is of better quality i agree but its a new game.

well i put in over 100 hours in re8, multiple playthroughs, speedruns and also sss rank in all mercenaries

it was well worth the money for me

the only re game that is much longer than others is re6 and that's not exactly a good re game

You can compare many high score games and see huge differences in quality between them.

Problem with RE8 not being engaging is it makes it easy to put down and then you end up not finishing it like i have. I paid full price launch day and to this day didn't finish. Now i recently finished my first RE4 run on Hardcore and took my sweet time and took 15 hours 36mins. I'm happy we can carry over are stuff into professional as well.

The fact it was opinion is already understood. It is just an argument made by people who do not have the ability to reason a valid answer, but want to be snarky. When it comes to it, RE Village is more of a mindless fun that fails to satisfy its own story. There are countless games like that, so I will not pay AAA price for another one. Resident Evil 4 has a crazy story, and things that are outlandish remain consistent. The difference between the games comes down to passion put into the project.

You're right but it's an easy way to stop the complaining and derailing.
