Am I missing something or are the typewriters missing the Amenhotep engraving that were in the original? Just a small detail I realized when replaying the original and noticing that this was missing in the remake. Although the official wiki page says it is in "the Resident Evil remake and RE 4", whatever they mean by "Resident Evil Remake", since RE 1 never had a remake.

Do you think these are the same game?

I genuinely chuckled at "re1 never had a remake"

Thank you for your passive aggressive rhetorical question-answer. Obviously two separate games are not the same game, so no need to ask me that. Obviously I made a false assumption.

I got into the RE series late and lacked knowledge. I only knew of an HD remaster, assuming it was a remaster of the original, not of a remake.

I am glad lack of knowledge amuses and/or triggers people. Rather than making a logical conclusion "you are misinformed, your assumption abc is wrong; actually xyz is correct" people respond with contempt. Pretty weird.

You said you were on the wiki.

The wiki lists both the original 1996 version and the 2002 gamecube remake.
If you care that much about analyzing my entire train of thought: I typed "amenhotep typewriter remake" into Google because I was curious whether one/some/all typewriters in the remake also have Amenhotep on the typewriter and I maybe missed it.

Second entry leads to https://residentevil.fandom.com/wiki/Typewriter where a footnote says "In Resident Evil Remake and Resident Evil 4, the typewriters have the word "Amenhotep" engraved in gold letters."

That's it. That's what I based my post on, plus my own misinformation that the Resident Evil game in my library that I bought 5 or so years ago is advertised as “The game that defined the survival-horror genre is back! Check out the remastered HD version of Resident Evil." assuming it's a remaster (not remake) of the OG.

Pretty bold and irrational of you to assume I would straight up just rewrite history or deny the reality of two separate games existing rather than just neutrally acknowledging "you are misinformed. There is actually a RE1 remake." Like why is it more likely to you that I want to deny the existence of two separate games as you assumed I read that there are in fact two separate games, rather than conclude that I had wrong information?

And this is why I've said on multiple occasions they need to update the store page to say that is a remaster of a remake.
Yes, at least one thing we can agree on.

Pretty much. Surprisingly defensive response, tbh.

It's impossible to accurately interpret ambiguous human responses via text without tone of voice and body language. Especially when that is already generally difficult for someone who is neurodivergent. Again, your response could be sarcasm or an actually genuine response.

Not sure why to respond to a wrong assumption with a question that has an obvious answer rather than correcting the wrong assumption. It's not constructive in any way.

If I go to the store looking for bananas and ask the clerk why they don't have any bananas and the clerk comes back with a banana holding it 'does this not look like a banana to you?' rather than saying 'oh but we do, you must have missed them, they are right here' as one would assume that I know what a banana looks like and it's a useless question.
