This or Village?
I love the Resident Evil series. My first game was the classic Resident Evil on the PS1 back in the day, so I really enjoy survival horror games. My question is should I get this or Village? I’m not a big fan of action... I just want a pure survival horror experience and I'm not sure which one should I get omg

I enjoyed this one much more than Village.

this game is a lot more fun than village imo, and it has the true spirit of RE4 which RE8 was trying to replicate

Village is a better game, unless you factor in nostalgia.
... no, this is just wrong.

Thank you all for your feedback. I have decided to go with the RE4make to see if it suits my needs :D

i think you will have fun, its much better than village because the story plot here is much better overall and the game is much more replayable without horrible sections you dread replaying

He asked for horror survival and not for action.

And then he went with the action lol

You know every RE game since RE7 has a demo right? Try them out and see it for yourself.

Village has less action than RE4, which is pretty consistent with its action sequences. RE4 is also a much better game across the board than Village.

You're better off playing something like Alien Isolation or Silent Hill 2 if you want "pure" survival horror.
I also have to say the Resident Evil series was never particularly scary to me, other than maybe 7 in parts. The survival aspect combined with some horror elements isn't enough for me to be scary. What I find really scary is being completely helpless against an unkown threat. Something like Outlast, Amnesia, Alien Isolation.

RE4, Village sucks.

Alien Isolation tends to lose its charm in the "scary" department once you understand how the AI for the alien works, as in no matter where you are, it's ALWAYS in the same area.

A bit yeah, but it's still a masterpiece and even if you understand how the xeno ai works, it's relatively still scary and surprising compared to other games after you understand their ai... It may lose its scare factor a bit, but it doesn't lose the quality Of the game at least... Or at least IMO...

Hopefully with the sequel now confirmed to be in development, they work on making the AI more random with different ways of hunting you as there are only so many times you can be "scared" with vent noises or spittle dripping from ceiling vents.

yeah the sequel can make the ai even better, and even more surprising... yeah i admit that alien isolation on the second half of the game, i was having the time of my life and it was a masterpiece... but it wasn't scary, i didn't even care much about the xeno... the sequel can actually make the xeno more a threat, even after you think you understand how it works... but honestly the game wasn't scary for me, i loved the xeno ai because i love to play with it, but if i really wanted to play ultra-focused and seriously... the ai has it's weak points, it can be not so dangerous...yeah the sequel can improve it a lot...

Once you have the flamethrower, you're almost invincible against the alien unless it decides to run you over and one shot you regardless, but you can save a ton of fuel by bursting flames at it instead of a steady stream as it only takes one puff to annoy it.

The best parts are when you're trying to save and the alien catches you or hiding under a table with two exits and he gets you from behind. Good stuff.
