After RE4, which Resident evil game I should try?
I'm now at Last chapter 16, and after campaign I will try mercenaries mode, but honestly, I would want to also try other RE games and get into that while universe, but i thinked where to go next.
Thinked about Village, but maybe before that I should play 7 to understand the story, or maybe I should first check 2-3 remake to understand story of Leon more

You could go with RE2R? Since you started on a Remake. Might as well try them all.

From there you could make up your list! There's quite a few games for you to try anyways.

Edit: Get RE3R on a sale if you value your money.

RE4 and RE7 are very loosely related since RE7 belongs in another chapter of the story.

There are 3 main chapters in the Resident Evil Story.
RE0, RE1, RE2, RE3 belong to the T-Virus chapter (Zombies)
RE4, RE5, and RE6(partly) belong to the Plaga chapter
RE7 and RE:Village belong to the Mold chapter

You'd better start with RE1 to get an idea how everything started.

Village's story is definetly better if you played 7 beforehand, specially because of a specific big reveal that relies on something that happened in 7.

If you want to catch up on Leon's story, go with 2 Remake. You could try the originals too, they're pretty different experiences and both are worth playing. Tank controls and fixed camera angles can take adjusting for new players, though, keep that in mind.

3 doesn't have anything with Leon, but it shows Jill's perspective of the Raccoon City incident and puts an end to it. If you want to go through the entire incident in general, go 1-2-3.

In 1's case, both the original and the remake use the old tank control/fixed camera style, but the remake has an analog controls option if you just can't get used to tank controls.

I'd say play Resident Evil 2 Remake next, gives you more with Leon to see how he started his story out and it would give you a little breather tonally from the more action heavy game you just got done with. Then play Resident Evil 7, because it's story is important to Resident Evil Village. Then you can play RE3R for kicks if you want. It's not as good as RE2R, but it's fine.

I see that each RE games are they own trilogy, I mean

RE 1-3 : Slower gameplay, more darkness, city
RE 4-6 : More action, more enemies, different medieval locations
RE 7-8(9?) : First person, slower gameplay but still action

Even main games are pretty confusing, while there are also more and more spin offs.

So yeah, I might start with 7 or 2 remake, gonna see

That's roughly how it goes, yeah. Although 7 follows the old survival horror formula of 1-3, not action. 8 is more action focused, though.

It also seems that each game tells other character perspective.

RE 2,4,6 is Leon trilogy
RE 7,8 is Ethan story, etc

At the beginning of the year I started with 1 for a trip down memory lane and it's been a rabbit hole ever since. Took care of 5 and Village this week and working on 6 now. Really want to get my hands on Code Veronica, legally. Probably going to give in and play 0 too.

I would play Re2 and Re3 now that u finished Re4 because both are also 3rd person and it would be kinda shi*ty to play different resident evil with different camera view. After finishing both u can go into 7 and 8.

id say 8 is closest to this then maybe 5
all the other games feel like complete different games entirely its more about resouce management and the entirety of enemies you kill in the other games are probably what you down in the first 2-3 chapters in this game
