Did you tell capcom beforehand that you didn't want a re4 remake? I think not.
Capcom has tried to replicate the success of re4 for ages now, it has been felt in most re titles, having similar elements, holdout chapters etc with village being the one that is re4 with a different coat of pain.
It was obvious given the success of remakes that 4 would happen and it’s also ironic that to capture the success of 4 again they needed well…re4
REmake 2, 3 and now 4, have had a varying amount of lore and characterization retcons.
This is not meant to me a classic "remake" of RE4, where it's the same game again but shiny (like The Last of Us Part 1). This is a reboot.
So far we have no evidence that the REmake titles are delaying the main entry RE games.
RE7: 2017
RE8: 2021
RE9: would then be expected around 2025
Capcom has multiple teams (at least Team A and Team B) working on the RE games.
So while Team A did RE8 and REmake 4, Team B might be in early development of RE9, or doing whatever REmake is next (REmake 1 or 5.)
Though I would expect insane amount of changes.
Like "It's RE6 in name only" kind of changes.
