Does anyone else hate the bug sections in the castle ballroom and the mines?
This is especially annoying on Professional difficulty. I swear, I didn't think anyone could create anything more cancerous than the Cazadors from New Vegas, but I guess I was wrong.

There are a lot of badly designed and overwhelming areas in this game. Pick one and i'll probably tell you you are right ;)

I didn't think there were so many of those critters running around during the crane section where ashley breaks down the wall...suddenly a cutscene shows like 5 of them rushing off the platform when I was empty on almost all my guns and was like ****. But if this is about the flying bugs....well they are annoying when camouflaged but otherwise are pretty easy to take care of.

? The flies are like one of the easiest enemies in this game, even on professional. Keep a TMP around, walk slow, tmp with two bullets to three, which stuns, and then knife kill if not next to a wall, kick if next to wall or around other flies. If you are surrounded, use a few more tmp to kill off a couple, but again, you are supposed to slowly encounter them.


....I thought you learned that if you are at Professional mode...

Yes very much so. That reminds me to ask the guy who made the bug to flying cows mod if he could make an alternate version that just straight up removes them from the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game. I could very well do without any of them. You try to shoot them: small and agile. You try to run and evade them, you'll get body checked from behind. You have to reload? It's going to charge you from the front. You're trying to find it? It's hovering exactly over your head where you couldn't see it. You're low health and limping? It's going to instant transmission behind you and chop off your head clean. Everything about them. Just. no.

They're just a bit tedious. You can't really get around them and there are a needlessly high amount of them.

I'm just curious. Is this a joke thread or a legitimate thread. I would have never thought anyone would perceive these enemies as hard.

Sure, they do the grab on occasion from a blindside if you just charge through and don't check (skill issue) but even that doesn't just kill you but put you at 1 HP or low. You could just grenade / flash bang if you want to rush through the area but otherwise they're slow, super low health, they are the only enemy in the game that totally reliably staggers from gunfire.

Yeah, but they're also really weak, its easy to kill them, unlike the OGs who were quite tanky when on ground and had the habit of stunlocking you to dead constantly.

It's not that they are particularly hard, just extremely annoying, that's all. And it's not really an issue in the first playthroughs, but in the ballroom in particular it seems like there are just too many of them and they spawn in a total of what? three waves? So you clear out every visible enemy on the map, but as soon as you step into one trigger zone, another wave of these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ keep floating up from the black abyss. And then again. And then you want to backtrack for the last two merchant quests and clean up the last treasures? AGAIN the ballroom spawns a fresh batch. Add insult to injury, you shoot them too fast while they float up, they drop dead into the black void and you can't even loot their putrid corpses. It only gets more and more annoying with each playthrough. Sure, they die from two pistol bullets but

That's why I compared them with cazadors; not hard, but extremely annoying.

The TMP is so useful against them because its rate of fire kills them in a second and unlike most other enemies they completely fill the crosshair at medium distance so you practically cant miss. A single clip can kill 10-15 of them.

I actually love this section. They go down in only 2-3 handgun shots and the camouflage challenge was fun where you have to find and eliminate them while still camouflaged was quite fun..
