Minimalist pretty much sum up which gun to go already. Same with no merchant run, pistol choice is always Red9 and not SG

Thats mostly cause you also gotta kill bosses, and Crit doesnt affect them, so whats best is dmg per shot, and yeah, Red9 is best for that.

Crit affects bosses. Can crit anywhere for 3x damage.

On challenge run, I'd agree with you.

The thing is, not everyone is doing challenge run. But everyone who do challenge run happened to be lurking on discussion forum.

I nowadays dont use handguns at all anymore playing on professional. For lower difficulties it doesnt matter at all. But for pro.. handguns are simply pretty useless for me. It's either shotgun to clear the way or the BAR to kill things. Once you get rid of your handgun.. you will see that suddenly... you get plenty of rifle and shotgun ammo.. resulting in a very fun run.

There isnt a single room where a handgun comes in handy. But thats something you realize once you have plenty experience.

Other than that.. I like the red9 and sen9.

Done 2 walkthrough with Sentinel 9 and there wasn't any problems with accuracy. Managed to hit blue medallions in the longest ranges. And also it's the most visually beautiful handgun

Same, tested S9 (along with all the other ones). Doesn't seem to have any accuracy issues. Nor does it have any noticeable recoil. Not my favorite gun, but still a decent one.

Indeed. At face Value S9 has better overall stats, but it really isn't better. The slightly damage decrease is insignificant as far as DPS goes, but actually matters for staggering and as you said S9 is less accurate even with the laser sight because of the relatively inaccurate focus mode of the weapon.

Can't really say for sure where SG stands objectively among other pistols like Red9 or Blacktail, but Fully maxed out SG with laser sight is my favorite pistol in this game.

The S9's damage is actually about 20% lower than what it says ingame according to the actual code, 1.73 instead of the 1.9 that it displays as. Definitely wouldnt call it the best
