Game feels shorter even though it isn't likely for that. Castle for example felt super short, as it's missing quite a lot, but what is there is longer...
Approaching the castle gates used to be the last hurrah of the villagers with even a truck trying to run you over.
You will find a lot of changes like that.
So you go through less level, but what level you are in you stay longer. I guess it sort of evens out, but I personally find it to be a downgrade from the Original.
The OG i have a lot of experience with.
RE1 is incredibly short if you don't spend hours running around the same areas you've been in before trying to find the key necessary to unlock the next room for progress.
RE2 is a bit longer than RE1, but still pretty short even if you bumble around in the police station to find any missed items. Having an A and B scenario for each character pads it out a bit as they have somewhat different experiences in mostly the same areas.
RE3 is incredibly short, and quite linear. There isn't even much room for having to backtrack for key items like in the previous two games.
RE4 is where the games started getting longer. Still fairly linear, but you can spend a lot of time going to hunt for treasures and finish off any remaining enemies before progressing to the next "region" of the map. (Village, Castle, Island)
As you may well know, feelings don't care about facts, so if the OP feels like this game that is longer than their average game is short, it's short.
If the Twins were voiced by Nora, though...
You actually managed to explain the OP in way that makes sense. Impressive.
It is long enough as is. I am on my 3rd play through. This type of game is supposed to be played several time over. I am pretty burnt out after the second run. This S+ run should be my last.
There should be an Ada wong DLC coming just like the original which tells Ada's story along side of Leon's. It will add probably 1/3 to 1/2 as long as the main story worth of content.
Huh. Everything makes sense now. Well well. kinda sad.
