M4 Carbine?
How can ppl find it worth to use rifle rounds for this? Damage is low and full auto only means waste of ammo, IMO.

It is actually really powerful. I was running around with the stingray and CQBR. Once my Stingray had a full clip I would put the excess ammo into the CQBR and use it during a DPS phase of a boss. Fun stuff.

I've never found it useful. It doesn't seem to fill any gap that other weapons do better. I think it's for of a NG+ kind of weapon but even then at that point you've unlocked the bonus weapons so it becomes obsolete.

The rifle series all have the different problem. Pinpoint on ammo problem is mostly ammo management issue. Missing shots with SR M1903 lead to eat punish into game over screen is skill issue. Can't one headshot with Stingray is aim issue.
Currently I see more people have problem with ammo than skill or aim.

It's not practical, but I defend its right to exist as a beautiful waste of ammo.

CQBR is a weird and polarizing weapon. I find it garbage before Cat Ears due to ammo inefficiency and the fact you likely have an upgraded Stingray by the time you upgrade it. Meanwhile some players give it ample words of praise in my Firearms Tier List.

Of course, with Cat Ears it becomes the ultimate second best weapon in the whole game, only bested by infinite rocket launcher. Damage and range of a rifle with fire rate and clip capacity of an smg? Yes please.

I only (mostly) use the bolt action rifle. I kinda can aim, even with a controller/steam deck. But, this you show here is i guess how the carbine can actually be useful.

This gun lacks a very importan function that his real life counter part has. Selective fire, if you could switch between Semi-auto to full auto. The rifle would be very versatile. For example, in full auto the rifle auto switches to crossair aiming, while in semi you use the iron sights or mounted scope.

It's actually pretty good. People are just scared of the "fully automatic" part.

It can be fired in semi-auto.

Is there a swappable "mode" or you mean just tapping the trigger/mouse? Cause yeah, but most times I fire 2 rounds instead of 1 -_- the gun is simply a waste of ammo, just use the Stingray.

Just tap-fire the trigger, I've been able to do it pretty consistently.

Ah, well, it should have a dedicated one, IMO. Maybe devs can make an update?

Yeah, I suppose they could. The fire rate is slow enough to where you shouldn't be accidentally firing 2 bullets. Hell, I can 1-tap with guns that have 1000+ rpm.

Well, i could probably not do it consistently :(

While it is usually inferior to the Bolt Action Rifle if you want a forgiving high DPS weapon (only if properly upgraded otherwise its trash) its a great boss killer. I wouldn't recommend it anywhere except bosses without cat ears and even for bosses I'd recommend only using when you have a few stacks of rifle ammo to spare. It can make a boss you aren't consistent with or have trouble with easier to pull off / faster. You could sell your Bolt Action > Upgrade CQBR > when done sell it and re-upgrade BAR or something along those lines since, ideally, you can't just use a exclusive ticket on CQBR so you don't have to worry about losing that in this trick as the CQBR does want its other stats unlike several other high tier weapons (ex, esp its fire rate & dmg otherwise its core benefit goes out the window as DPS).

It isn't practical in general due to its ammo use as its biggest weakness is its poor (despite description, perhaps even bugged and one day fixed?) penetration so it can't generate the multi kill epicness of the other two ammo efficient rifles. This is its real issue, not its fire rate / single tap. Of course, if compared directly to BAR then tis even less efficient due to much lower dmg and requiring upgrades where BAR can cheese power up with an exclusive and still maintain most of its advantage (though reload sure is nice on it).

Note about the fire rate. I've not tested how high it has to be to be a problem but apparently fire rate is attached to frame rate so higher FPS = faster fire rate similar to the classic knife spam exploits in prior games. It could turn out harder to single tap if FPS too high so if you have issues try locking FPS.
