Why does Ramon look so damn old?

He stated he was 20 in the original RE4, and although he doesn't state his age on this game, it's most likely the same as that doesn't seem like something they would change.

If he's only 20 years old, why the HELL is he so damn wrinkly, and have gray hair????

Now that you mention it, the Ganados do look somewhat old, although not nearly to the extent of Ramon. Also, Krauser has a Plaga but doesn't look old.

The plaga is supposed to make him look old. In the original, Leon calls him an old man before he admits that he's only 20 years old.

Ramon in the remake definitely gives completely different vibes than the original. I played it blind I was expecting like a comedy relief character that comical fails miserably to succeed. The remake version he's just creepy and gross. Not saying it's bad. It's just different.

They did take out the line where he says his age so maybe they just want him to be old now. Also he could just be lying.

It makes sense that he'd be older in this version since the implication seems to be that he's been given an unnaturally long lifespan by the Plagas in him, considering he dresses like it's the late 1800s to early 1900s, and the technology level of his demesne seems to have only recently reached the level of iron tools, if the journals of the villagers are to be believed.

I dont think he looks old. I think he looks like he has had to transform before and after going back to his human form, this was the best result.

In the original, he was supposed to be a very young man artficially aged by Las Plagas. He revealed his actual age in a dialogue. That's why he looked so weird. In the remake, I'm not sure his age is ever explicitely mentioned, but one might extrapolate something from the documents lying around.
