I believe og Leon was an alcoholic getting over a recent break up which is why he was late to his welcome party at rpd. That was the original story if I recall for re2, it's been changed though. But it gives you a hint at Leon's mindset when it comes to women.

Then he meets Ada who uses him and those events scar him for life.

Operation Javier we see him simping for a woman again.

re4 he continues to simp for Ada. He turns down Ashley because of his attachment of Ada he even says it himself he can't let her go. He flirts with Hunnigan after but its probably to try to force himself to move on after thinking over turning down Ashley and being a simp for Ada. Hunnigan turns him down so he is left still thinking of Ada with no women to distract him.

Movies we see him simping for Angela? I think her name was.

Then he simps for Ada again in the other movie.

re6 he continues to simp for Ada. But he also simps for Halena who literally helped kill the president and he just follows her along without her even telling him what's going on.

for the remake i can see it as he kind of burns ada off at the end. also even with ashley hinting at them doing a team he doesnt say no to it.

Yeah Leon's trauma is in re2 which is why he is attached to Ada. Ashleys trauma is re4 which is why she's attached to Leon. Makes sense
