Play in Offline mode

Is there any way to play resident evil 4 remake in offline mode? My internet went down today and when I try to start the game it just tell me that I was in offline mode and force to me go online in order to play it. This is stupid

If your PC is able to access WiFi, you can enable your mobile hotspot, connect to the mobile hotspot WiFi, sign in to Steam, start the game, and once you are able to start the game, you can turn off your WiFi hotspot. Apparently after doing this, you can play the game offline and it won't ask for internet again.

Huh? I disconnected my internet and then was able to launch the game and play it without internet? Did you perhaps initialize it with internet before hand before internet disconnect? You should be able to play it offline.

I just tried to play offline, and it works, one thing that might prevent you from playing offline, is the net data thing, (in options, go to the far right) there are a couple of options there that you can turn off.

The game can be played offline just fine.

this worked. Apparently the game need me to go online even though I had login to steam few times before my internet went down lol

My PC doesn't have a built-in WiFi card, but luckily I bought a WiFi adapter a few years ago and managed to connect to it.

It's not an issue in the first place, the game just works offline.

Sometimes force-closing steam and re-opening will do the trick

When I cut my connection to see if it improves performance it totally worked, just no improvement. Since the game does have DRM though maybe your issue is that games sometimes don't trust you until they've called home once.

I think you need to boot it once Online, and then put steam in offline mode. If that doesn't work, then the game is always Online enabled. Welcome to the future of gaming.

Games with Denuvo have a periodic online requirement, so you'll need to have a connection the first time you start up the game, and also whenever the offline token expires. While you have a valid token you should be able to play offline, but there's no way to tell when the token will expire and you will be forced to have a internet connection again. General rule of thumb would be to expect the need to refresh the token every two weeks.

Yeah, it's pretty crappy, especially for people who don't have stable ways to connect to the internet, or folks who have a Steam Deck and like portable handheld gaming.
