F*ck the Village House siege part.
EDIT: Many of you skipped past the other comment of mine explaining the fact that I’m on my way to for platinum, I’m a navigated player, I don’t need any tips to get past the siege, I just hate that part and that’s all. If you are here to give tips or simply flauntering elitism of some sort you are wasting your time here in this venting post.

Horrible in normal mode, horrible in professional and even horrible with cat ears. There are various parts in this game that gives the player a bad time moving around, but the village house siege is on another league.

Whoever green lit this section during development deserves to lose his/her job and live out of box of noodles and high bills and rent, because its beyond idiotic the whole concept of a horde in a extremely clustered area like that house. No matter how you get equipped, the flood will get unbearable, and the continous hit chains the ganados lands on you leaves you little room to react at all if not none, and cherry on top of the cake: it is escruciating LONG.

There is a similar section in Resident evil 3 remake with carlos, but the ones who made it used their brain cells during development, and made sure of a few things: 1: the arena was waay more generous in space than the friggin house in RE4R, 2: Carlos is better equipped with a full auto rifle, capable to shred thru hordes more efficiently when Leon has a weaponry that dosen't do enough total DPS to cull the horde and 3: RE3R zombies in this horde don't get up once downed, when the ganados not only they don't stay down, they also transform into head plagas and broken neck running weirdos, making the whole fight even more escruciating.

I made countless runs, but everytime i get to the horde part i get ready to poison my liver, even the castle garden with jumpscare dogs and the ballroom full of novistadores are more tollerable than that g*ddamn house.

Sounds like you're just ass. My first playthrough was Hardcore and I've completed about 4-5 playthroughs total including on pro, and I don't think I've maybe died but a total of 1-2 times in that section across all runs. If you're still struggling even with cat ears then you just need to turn in your gamer's license lol.

Cleared it first try on normal, as most other stuff in NG+ with some maxed weapons. Also, i played OG for 200+ hours, cabin on pro is quite hard there too. Yes, tho, i find normal challenging too. Will finish this run and then do hardcore.

on my way to get platinum. i recently got the S+ professional rank, and i only need to complete a professional run without reward weapons and the minimalist achievement to platinum the game. So no.....that is not a skill issue at all.

Genuinely no one will find that part funny, those are facts.

genuine skill issue.

The siege is fine. You're just legitimately not good at it, at least yet... clearly. Your time would be better spent asking for tips because the siege is quite reasonable (actually very very easy once you figure it out).

The village siege is pretty easy as long as you keep moving. I can't say it's enjoyable, but fairly easy to deal with once you're familiar with the level layout and how the enemies move and react. I played on hardcore my first play-through and died only once.
the siege is easy enougth especially in normal just aim legs and kick or head just like the classic as for the big guy once he there just focus on him

I can get it done on normal easily, but the irritation remains, im talking mainly of the siege on professional. Nothing dies, nothing falls with less than 3 shotgun hits, this, coupled with the clustered space and the constant flood of enemies makes the experience excruciating. When i went for S+ professional i managed execute the clipping glitch and it went smooth without problems. For no reasons at all, the glitch got inconsistent and ganados manage to pull me out of the wall and 3 hit combo me disabling my inventory every single time.

I didnt die on the Village siege but i was Very low on hp. I was blocking some windows and constantly moving and trying to Go for the Head or legs to trigger the special move.

Leon constantly moving worked better for me.

honestly one of the easiest parts in the game. There is no excuse to be taking more than a couple hits during this part, even on professional. Board windows, drag the bookcase, then go upstairs and focus stairs and ladder to knock approaching ganados down. Once the second phase starts, focus on keeping the ladders knocked down and empty everything you have into the hammer guy when he shows up. Use grenades if you are having trouble.

Board up the one window that's on a different wall, pick up all items on both floors, then do the opposite of what the game tells you to do: hide on the top floor first, then go to the bottom floor once the horde moves up.

I only got trouble with it on NG pro, cause I didn't have the ammo to bruteforce phase 3

Loot the whole cabin first, board the stairs window and stand there, you have a full view of the two open windows and can gun down anyone entering, with your back safe and an escape route with the stairs.

Whenever you're overrun, just slightly go up the stairs and let them try to come one by one, first phase can be done with mainly handgun since nothing can come from behind you, you just have to hold the stairs.

Knife anyone that twitches on the ground or you'll probably have to rifle or flashbang the slasher things. If more than two ganados (or a broken neck one) try to come up the stairs, a shotgun shell will stop them in their tracks, then back to handgun. Once the two boards drop, board all windows.

Second phase all hell breaks loose, might as well kill anything you can really fast to make the cow come earlier, if you kept grenades up to this point you might consider using them now. Circle around (up the stairs, down the ladder, around the room, repeat), and shotgun anything in your way that isn't distracted by Luis, to avoid grabs.

Third phase on pro I legit never managed to kill the cow or wait out the timer, both options just had me overrun by the other dudes at some point. Even though I had attempts that lasted several minutes and Ashley never started the cutscene, the second I started ignoring the cow and killed the ganados instead the cutscene appeared one or two minutes in max. I suspect there's a normal enemy kill threshold in the third phase and it's much easier to reach than the timer or boss, it's definitely below 10 kills, probably close to 5

HAHA! Yes. I must admit I got killed a couple of times on my first Normal run. It's nothing like the OG house raid.

Out of pure luck (or I'm better than I think I am) I did it first try on Hardcore. Just keep moving, think fast, know what weapons to use and when. Grenades are your best friend!

It's a tough section granted but easily doable as long as you keep moving and make use of the ladder. Just don't get bogged down in the outer area when kicking the ladder down and Luis will give you ammo if you're running low. Using the boards also helps.
