Any chance that Denuvo gets removed?
They removed Denuvo from previous RE games, so i'm curious if they do it with RE4 as well? Game sold extremely well and it's been almost two years since the release, so i see really no reason to keep it. Would be nice, if they remove it.

Eventually.

Capcom usually removes it around a year after the final update. Last update was October 2, 2023. So, potentially soon.

The game was already cracked last year, why won't they remove it? I actually want to buy this game, but refuse to support Denuvo.

Denuvo doesn't affect performance in any way.

Can I ask why you want it removed? as mentioned above, it literally has ZERO effect on performance.

Not the Ada DLC.

I have no issues with performance, that's not at all why i want it to be removed. I think it's just normal that games in general shouldn't have Denuvo after a year or two, there's literally no reason for it. My preferred way of playing games will always be completely offline, that's why GOG installers are the best, because ideally i wouldn't want to use any launchers at all (even Steam). Can I ask why you want them to keep it?

im not advocating the removal or for keeping of it. I can afford it either way. was just curious on your why.

Well it's clearly not about being able to afford it as you can clearly see i also bought it (day 1 btw). I also own disc versions for PS4 and PS5. Also the game is already cracked so that aspect wouldn't matter anyway. Playing completely offline used to be the norm, before they started adding Denuvo around 2014. I have never liked this idea, that i have to connect to internet in order to play single player games or having any kind of launchers. For example i don't want to open Steam (or literally any launcher ever) and then click "play game". I just want to click "play" and that's it and that's how it used to be for a very long time. That was the norm. So whenever that's still possible, i take it every time over launchers/denuvo/internet connection.

Also i'm not really sure why you would even ask "why i want it removed", because if it doesn't matter, then it shouldn't be there anyway.

incorrect. I play this game all the time at work with no internet connection whatsoever. Asus ROG Ally z1 extreme

edit - currently playing it on handheld with airplane mode on. steam offline mode.

Fact remains, if denuvo doesn't matter, then only questions that should be asked are- "why is it even there?" or "why wouldn't you want it to be removed". It's not just about this game either, i asked same question under "Dead Space" forum and i'm hopeful that Dead Space Denuvo also gets removed. Overall it goes for all the games, after year or two there's no reason for it anymore. Ideally it should be removed from all games eventually. Also there's nothing incorrect about what i said. In order to play this game, i still have to install Steam, i still have to log into steam. The ideal way would be, that i don't have log into anything, that's how it used to be and that's the way i will always prefer.

Once again, incorrect. GOG installers are exactly that and GOG is doing very well. After i buy game from GOG, i don't have to log into anything and there's no Denuvo. So i'm not sure what "old times not coming back" are you even talking about lol. For example Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Denuvo got removed and now i can play it completely offline, by the way that goes for majority of games that i play. Also Capcom has removed Denuvo from all their previous Resident Evil games, so i'm very confident that they will also remove it from RE4.

There was an update about a new depot on steamdb a few days ago, so Capcom will probably be removing denuvo soon.
