Why does this game launch as a background process?

I bought this game on PC around the time that it launched, and it usually had no problem running. The only problem I had was that I was playing on a weaker gaming laptop, so on top of already having mid specs, it overheated and made most of my games hard to play anyway.

Recently, I have obtained a new PC (RTX 4070 SUPER 12GB, 32GB DDR5 RAM 6000MHz, RYZEN 7 7800X3D 8-Core 4.2GHz). Should be able to play this game with much smoother and more consistent performance, right? Wrong. Every time I launch it, it just launches as a background process, meaning I never actually get to play it. Wtf do I do to be able to enjoy this game again???

Known issue with 24h2. Delete the crash reporter exe and dll in the install folder. If it still won't start up, try the installer message ones as well.

I am so grateful for your help! I didn't delete any files, I just found a Windows update in my settings and that was enough to make my game work. Runs beautifully, thank you!
