RE:4 Remake does not launch even tho steam says it's running

Yeah, no, RE4 just doesn't wanna launch, even tho steam says it's running, no black screen or anything like that, just... Nothing.

idk what to do at this point, i've tried everything, windows defender folder/file exclusion, Driver update, reinstalled the game 7 times with deleting every single file manually, both steam and game are in administrator mode,

i am stuck, i've tried doing everything in my power to fix it, i just can't.


does anyone have any fixes they themselves fixed or your friends/people on the internet had and it got fixed?

Same situation: the game doesn't start. There is no black screen, no error, nothing. Steam indicates that the game is running. I have tried everything, too.

Denuvo is probably the reason why we can't launch our game. I hope Capcom removes it.

Doubtful. If it were denuvo there would be a popup with a link to a codefusion website. It's not a boogeyman. It's just software.

Guessing other than diyuser, you're all on windows 11.

Well, if you're on windows 11 you can apparently get around it by deleting the crash reporter and associated dll in the install folder

If anyone is having this problem delete crashreport.dll and crashreport in the games files and it should be fine. This also works on other re engine games

I tried this and just deleted the crash report and not its associated dll and it ran.

I tried other solutions that said to delete multiple files, but that never worked. Can confirm that deleting only the CrashReport.exe worked for me! Thanks for the suggestion
