My PC crashes when closing the game

Sometimes, when I close the game, the PC goes to a black screen and nothing else works. Even if I press Ctrl Alt Del or Alt F4. Has anyone ever had this problem?

I had this happen with my most recent session. I could Ctrl-Alt-Del to open Task Manager, but I could not access it with the game being overlayed on top of it, so I needed to restart my entire system. I've also had the game become permanently stuck loading between chapters.

I also had this happen yesterday and it was awful. Had to hard restart my PC and lost a Word doc I had open in the background. Couldn't even bring up task manager to force close the RE4R app. Alt F4 didn't do anything either. Good thing I beat the game, this one is a one and done for me.

Just browsing this forum out of boredom... but it made me think of a similar issue me and others were having on the old RE1 remake. The workaround there was to put the game in windowed mode before closing the game otherwise it would do this. Never figured out why but that was the only way. So if it's possible to do this here give it a try. Try actual bordered and not just borderless if possible. Would be intersting to know if it works..

Thanks for the tip. Would be useful if I was gonna boot this game up ever again. Too bad.

That just happened to me tonight for the first time. I thought it was odd, because in the year that I've owned this game, I've never seen it crash once. But tonight, it crashed when I was exiting the game.

Happened to me a few times as well. I wonder why this happens. Only solution was to force shutdown my laptop which is not good.

This happened to me twice - both times after beating the game and quitting, so it has to do something with this. All other quits and loads were without any hiccups.
