It was there before, basically dualdense only function like dualshock 4 with gyro, basic rumble and working touchpad and you need to enable steam input to get everything to work. If a game requires you to turn off steam input for dualsense to function at all, it usually means it support dualsense natively and haptic if the ps5 version also do. Missing adaptive triggers is a little weird in this case; I do remember it being supported on ps5 that I bought just for psvr2. Easy way to tell if haptic is working is the footstep haptic.
Hey guys, I was super excited seeing this but I just tried myself and I dont see anything different from how the game behaved before. Just standard rumble, I don't feel any special haptics or adaptive triggers.
I disabled steam input and turned on the controller speakers. Nothing that I can tell.
As you mentioned, the easiest way to tell is the footsteps haptics and it just feels the same as before, I dont feel anything special. Also when you toggle menu options, there is usually a subtle rumble too, in any dualsense supported game, I dont feel any.
Also - I checked the depot and the latest update was back from Oct 2nd 2023, so I dont think there was any update for added Dualsense support as far as I can tell.
Let me know if you guys see anything different ? Thx!

While the controller has Bluetooth 5.1 connectivity, Bluetooth 4.0 dongles will work.
Haptic feedback, audio passthrough to the 3.5mm audio jack and built-in speaker are not supported over Bluetooth connection. Furthermore, support of adaptive triggers over Bluetooth connection vary depending on the games.

Thx guys ! Yup I am indeed using a wired USB-C cable. And your right - I do feel a rumble in the situations that you mentioned, but its a very standard - crude rumble. Sorta like a one size fit all generic rumble, for lack of a better term.
I did see the other guy mentioned that you at least get native rumble support, albeit generic rumble, when you turn off steam input. So perhaps this is the "new part".
I only know its not the "higher quality" haptics rumble because I literally just retried the RE4 demo on the PS5 and you'll know instantly if your getting haptics.
In the PS5 chainsaw demo, EVERY FOOTSTEP that leon makes produces a very "soft" and subtle rumble on your controller. Left/Right, Left/Right... etc
Are you getting that now when playing on the PC ? I just compared the two and on the PC im only getting a rumble when i switch directions when running. But every other normal footstep doesnt produce any rumble.
Let me know if you guys think, thanks !
It is also possible that they are just regular rumble because the game did support most dualshock 4 features out of the box like gyro and touchpad but you need steam input enabled; they may have updated the game to recognize dualsense as dualshock 4 without steam input so it is just regular rumble like on dualshock 4 despite showing dualsense buttons icon. The fact that it doesn't have adaptive triggers supports kind of indicate that may very well be the case and not the first game to do so.
If anyone has a ps5, you can dl the demo to feel the real haptic feedback; you can tell the rumble is very different right away. I will test it out myself when i get home.
