Before if you wanted the full game you would have to pay 80$, that's pretty overpriced for some people, now you get all that for 50$ thus a better price.
I bought deluxe edition for 40$ then I would have bought Separate ways for 10$ & Ada assignement for 10$ making it at 60$ in total, that's the real worth of the game since OG RE4 gave you all of that for 60$ at release.
Maybe they'll release Ada assignement as a 10$ DLC and a diamond edition, so you know that next time you should wait for a year to get a capcom game because I bought the game for 40$ and got the same experience as someone who paid 60$ so why the rush ? Hence why I've waited for a sell, I would have been so mad if I had paid more then a gold edition came.
I didn't buy the 10$ cut content DLC because apparently capcom want to remove mods so I'm not spending money on them, since they are also greedy means that I'll spend money elsewhere, I bought Palworld and I have more hours than in this game and that's with mods for RE4 remake, Palworld I only play solo on hard so a big company get owned by an indie team, if you ask how that happened well the game is 30$ and they don't sell you infinite ammo tickets nor sell you cut content.
In conclusion: Decreasing the price so that people who don't own the game yet will buy it, that cost them nothing to do so hence why it's more profit, those who did pay the game at a higher price well....... no one forced them to do so, we are on steam after all so sales are a thing, OG RE4 price droped too at some point so it's not 60$ now.
Hope that help.

I am, yes. RE2 remake sold more than twice as much.
shocking that things sell more the longer that thing is out, who knew
Again. Resident Evil 4 did not include Separate Ways in its original release. You had to buy the entire game again, plus a whole new console to play it on since the extra content was exclusive to the PlayStation 2.
"Resident Evil 4 sold over three million units in the first two days of release.[88] The game sold four million units in the first two weeks, making it one of the fastest-selling Resident Evil games.[89] By July 2023, it had sold over five million units.[90] By December 2023, it had sold 6.48 million units, making it the fastest-selling game in the series.[91]
In Japan, it was the best-selling retail game in its first week, selling 89,662 units on PlayStation 5 and 85,371 on PlayStation 4."
I'm sure Capcom are happy with such high numbers after less than 12 months. Resident Evil games generally have "long legs" and continue to sell for years.
they're probably gonna have one final update to remove denuvo and that's about it
I wish other Japanese publishers ( and not just Japanese ) would start doing this. For example
SEGA, who raised the price of Persona 5 and as a result the game on the PC cost more than on the PlayStation (in my country), which is nonsense, because games on the PC have always been cheaper than on consoles.
Or Square Enix who first released FF7 Remake in 2020 exclusively on PS then in 2021 in EGS and only a year later, in 2022 the game appeared in Steam. At the same time at full price, for the game two years ago, without any discounts. Although almost all games that appeared in Stim after the "temporary" exclusivity in EGS were released immediately at a discount of up to 50%. As a result, the game in my region is more expensive than almost any other game, except Diablo 4. And I can not afford it, although I have long dreamed of buying it, but not at such a price, because the greedy publishers want me living in a poor country to pay for the game as much as in the U.S. or UK, where wages are 10 times more than in my .
So I commend Capcom for such a decision. At least someone is not raising the prices of games, but lowering them.
I'll just add that Remake 4 will not be nearly as legendary of a videogame as the original. Thanks to many cut corners and incompetent production decisions made.
That is correct, OG Resident evil 4 sold more than RE4 remake:
OG RE4: over 13 million unit sold.
RE4 remake: 5,400,000 unit sold.
RE5 sold more units: Over 15,000,000.
RE6: Over 16 million
The thing is that RE4 remake cost more money overall thus they don't need to sell more if people buy an overpriced product,Separate ways being cut from the base game to be sold at 10$ + deluxe edition (contain DLC weapons) for 70$ means that some people have spent 80$ on the game thus making more profit, then capcom sell infinite ammo tickets and such.
OG RE4 profit: 403,440,000 $
RE4 remake profit: 320,000,000 $

re2 sold 12m copies by august 2023, that's around 4 years, come back in 3 years and compare the sales
it took re2r almost a year to sell 5 million copies while re4r did it in a few months original re4 has been out for nearly 20 years
It doesn't matter, palworld sold more units than RE4 remake and Palworld hasn't been out for a month yet, hence why I don't see why it matter if OG RE4 was out before the remake especialy when RE5 sold more than OG RE4.
