that *is* a discount
If you bought the game and all the dlc... you already got the gold edition.
(Yeah I have all of DLCs)
If you bought them without a sale then you have spent 80$ for the gold edition, gold edition is at 50$.
If you bought the base game at it's original price it's 60$, 70$ for the deluxe edition (contain skins, map, and the DLC weapons), gold edition have all of this plus separate ways (10$ DLC) for 50$.
Yes, a year later. Gold Edition is for people who still don't have it. Comparing the launch edition and pricing with gold editions is pointless.
I don't see how it's pointless.
Before the price drop:
RE4 remake = 60$
Deluxe edition: 70$
Separate ways DLC: 10$
That's 80$ in total if you want the full game.
Gold edition cost 50$ so overall gold edition is cheaper than what people bought before (without a discount, I bought the deluxe edition for 40$, didn't purchase Separate ways but 40$ for RE4 remake all weapons + 10$ for separate + 10$ for Ada assignement in case it's a thing = 60$, that's the real value of the game, above that it's overpriced.
As an exemple Palworld cost 30$ and I have over 70 hours so far and I didn't even finished it (beaten 1 tower out of 5) so it's worth the money by far, with RE4 I'm under 40 hours because once you do PRO that's it no more content, not gonna buy the cut content.
It was, you can check RE4 on steam and you'll see no DLC, when you purchase the game it got Ada assignement & Separate ways, in the remake they have cut separate ways to sell it as DLC.
OP said: "So if you bought the game at launch or after it", it's the first line, this mean OP expected a discount for upgrading to gold edition if you got the base game. (something like 10$ for the upgrade, that way you get the deluxe content + cut content DLC at a discount.)
og re4 didn't have separate ways on launch and you had to buy a new console and buy the game for that console to get separate ways
you don't know history
