Dear Capcom, please stop trying to prevent mods from functioning
Mods are literally the only reason I bought this game and RE8. I would not even have considered buying them if it weren't for them, nor will I consider buying your future games if you block modding in them.
Stop whatever you're doing trying to prevent mods from functioning.

For the uninitiated:

Capcom Doesn't care. They will add the DRM, and modders will find a way around it. Like they always do. Capcom won't be able to block anything, Because the only way for them to prevent modding is to not release the game on PC.

Turns out big corpo doesn't want us to own anything. I'm just waiting for this to hit monster hunter... what a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ joke.

It's insane, they've been on a roll lately, and they've been pretty good with removing Denuvo even after a set period of time, but now they're adding awful DRM to 11 year old games??
Like, what??
I remember testing out RE Revelations, liking it a bit, using ultrawide fan patches & DXVK to get a good experience and something else, that seems to now be out the window.
I bought RE4R day 1, I never do that to AAA for the last 10 years, I had confidence Capcom would stay decent in the AAA space, the demo ruled.

Mods keep games alive and enrich them, people with questionable morals might not like all of them but they're optional and don't hurt the actual game, no one's forcing people to download them-- Bethesda would be bankrupt without a rich history of modders basically salvaging their buggy rough games.
If Capcom will hurt modders it's going to in the long run hurt Capcom more.

If Capcom block all mods and worsen the performance by DRM they will feel the rage. I don't think they know what fire they are playing with.

They just want to give ammo to the people who want to pirate.
GHOST Jan 10, 2024 @ 3:35pm
capcom is just forcing everybody to crack their games, mod is not the problem, was confirmed that the new drm will have a massive impact on performance, affecting like 10 to 15% of the game's performance, capcom is getting disgusting, but since looke like they are only encoraging everybody to crack their games, they dont care that moutch

Go ahead Capcom, make my day.
This is a great way for Capcom to encourage people to pirate their games.

What's it gonna be Capcom? $90 for the game and a DLC every time you drop a remake, or no money and players pirate your game so that it runs well and they can mod it?

I'm glad I've been calling them Crapcom, including the period that people praise them for getting better with some REs, DMC5, MHs, etc.

IMO, they've always been bad. They were westernizing and censoring their games all these years. And become more and more anti-consumers, turning their games into online games (SF5 and SF6 are pretty much online games).

They'll probably make all their games always online in the future. They already tested the water with SF5 & SF6. Next Resident Evil will probably have to be connected to their server at all time so that they can dictate everything and run a check if you use mods or not.

you can't stop the company who still think modding is not different with cheating

This DRM also block Cheat Engine.

Cheating in single-player games shouldn't be an issue to them or to anyone. They're just being dumb and petty.
They're being greedy. They're going to charge for things you'd otherwise mod.

If Capcom ♥♥♥♥ over the RE Remakes with this ♥♥♥♥, that's me done with Capcom. RE4:Re needs so many gameplay mods just to improve things like combat and quality of life to be in line with the original, it's ridiculous.

They're trying to force everyone on all platforms to have to buy their microtransactions. They also want "mods that are offensive to public order and morals" to be eliminated, this is obviously in fear of potential social media "outrage" and to keep the company's ESG score in good standing.
