Like, what??
I remember testing out RE Revelations, liking it a bit, using ultrawide fan patches & DXVK to get a good experience and something else, that seems to now be out the window.
I bought RE4R day 1, I never do that to AAA for the last 10 years, I had confidence Capcom would stay decent in the AAA space, the demo ruled.
Mods keep games alive and enrich them, people with questionable morals might not like all of them but they're optional and don't hurt the actual game, no one's forcing people to download them-- Bethesda would be bankrupt without a rich history of modders basically salvaging their buggy rough games.
If Capcom will hurt modders it's going to in the long run hurt Capcom more.
What's it gonna be Capcom? $90 for the game and a DLC every time you drop a remake, or no money and players pirate your game so that it runs well and they can mod it?
IMO, they've always been bad. They were westernizing and censoring their games all these years. And become more and more anti-consumers, turning their games into online games (SF5 and SF6 are pretty much online games).
They'll probably make all their games always online in the future. They already tested the water with SF5 & SF6. Next Resident Evil will probably have to be connected to their server at all time so that they can dictate everything and run a check if you use mods or not.
This DRM also block Cheat Engine.
Cheating in single-player games shouldn't be an issue to them or to anyone. They're just being dumb and petty.
