Audio feels bad
Compared to RE2 Remake in this game i cant never tell when someone is behind me, its just a mess of people yelling stuff and sound effects.

Even though I use headphones, I use the TV sound configuration for this game... it sounds alright, but the positioning is indeed a bit off.

I think the tv setting has a narrowed setting while the headphones one is more wide.

Dolby Atmos in this is another level, tho. Definitely better than RE2.

Dolby Atmos is very good in this game. Hearing the Novistadors fly above you is both annoying and awesome at the same time.

What exactly do you mean by "dolby atmos"? Is it labeled as 3D audio in game?

i bought atmos and i could barely hear a difference in any game. It felt cool in battlefield when a jet flies past you but i feel that all it does is increase the reverb for stuff like explosions and vehicles so i ended up refunding it. I would've liked it more if this game included its own 3d audio solution (I forgot what they are called, something like hrfr?) or at the very least port the one from re2r instead of relying on external solutions like windows sonic or dolby atmos.

Has anyone noticed this game kind of has the Assassin's Creed dialogue quality to it? It's like RE2 was Lossless and in comparison RE4 sounds like a heavily compressed MP3

The game does have HRTF I'm pretty sure. Unless he's talking about the gimmick of Dolby Atmos for headphones, the Dolby Atmos mode is meant for using a Receiver and a sound system. The 3D audio option is just HRTF, when you hook up to speakers that turns into Dolby Atmos because otherwise it would only be Stereo

I think it does have some binaural audio but as you say the game's audio is really compressed and the audio is not accurate for positioning.
